Default Yeast Infection and Obgyn experience... (a testimony)

So I wanna share my experience when I went to the gyn.. but let me tell you the problem I had first, I had a discharge, it was greenish yellow, thick like cottage cheese, and also itched sometimes, sometimes the itch can be so bad.. really uncomfortable… I had it since January and I thought I could treat it with a home remedy, from yogurt, pills, til douching.. I know from the internet that douching is bad for us but I was desperate I wanted to try to cure myself without going to a doctor. But no luck, so, on Monday Nov30-09 I went to the obgyn and heres the story:

I was with a friend who has the same problem, then we decided to go together cuz I felt like not comfy to go alone and besides, this is my first visit to the gyn. I went to the hospital n find the doctor, waiting there… the doctor is female. After waiting for my turn, so I entered the doc room, then I told my problem, I have a discharge n stuff, she asked is it itchy or not and asked if she can check my V inside, I said yes of course no problem. I told her I wanted to do pap smear also.

Then, I sit on the special kind of chair, put my legs up, then she began to check. She put something inside n open my V. The doctor is really kind, she said it will be uncomfy for a while cuz she will open my V. First time she saw my inside V, she said, oooooooo this is a funghi.. (or maybe yeast)… the yeast is sticks to all of your V walls (and I think OMG). Then I said yes myb that’s why its itchy, I did douche although I know its not good… then she said that I must NOT douche at all, because when you douche you put bad germs into your V, your V can clean itself, douching makes it worse because you add something bad to your V.. unless you had an infection, then you can douche, but make sure you know what is the problem first.

Ok I understand, and then she cleaned my V with idk what, she seemed to clean the yeast first, and then she said to the nurse to get her a CANESTEN, oh then I think, oh she used canesten.. but it is not a regular over the counter canesten for our skin. I checked the prescription it says Canesten vag tablet, so its for the V. then she applied canesten to my V… I think that’s all, or I don’t know if she put something more (or maybe do the pap smear). Then she finished, then gave me prescription, she gave me a single dose capsule, it is called Zemyc, fluconazole 150 mg. then I went home with no itch anymore, no greenish discharge or whatever I used to had before, I am so happy. Now I only have a regular discharge, but this week maybe on Friday I will have a second visit to get my papsmear test result and tell her about my discharge, I hope she says I am normal again! So, I think if any of you who has a yeast infection or BV, or perhaps you don’t know whats wrong with you but you keep having a discharge, or any problem with your V, better see a doctor, if you don’t wanna go alone, ask a friend who has the same problem, that helped. I am really glad I have been cured now. Thanks for reading. 

I had one for the first time, and it happened when I was involved with my second partner. Apparently, my pH level was imbalanced, and my body was adjusting to his fluids being introduced to me - I am a very sensitive gal. My OB-GYN just prescribed a one-time med, which I took. She also douched me and that was it. I also made sure that I just used water to wash down there - no soap. Since then, I am okay.

best cure for yeast infection is:
10 grams of baking soda put into a 1.5l bottle in wather shake that well ...and wash your vagina with it several times a day (several means like 4 or five times...when ever you remember you should do it )its a national medicine like alternative ...english is my second language so,I hope you understood me ...I am doing that right now
