Unhappy Yeast infection or something more?

Hello ladies! I have a problem. This is going to be kinda long.

I'm a 22-year-old female. First and foremost, I want to say that I'm a major worry-wart. I worry about everything. I also used to make bad decisions. Two and half years ago, I started dating a guy I knew from high school. We had been good friends. Well, this guy had contracted genital herpes and he told me about it. We had sex once. We used a condom, he wasn't having an outbreak and he was on medication for it. Ok. Flash-forward a few months, we had broken up and I had met someone new and started dating him. I decided to go to the health department and get checked JUST TO MAKE SURE. Nothing was going on down there and I hadn't had any kind of symptoms to lead me to believe I had herpes. Well, the health department doctor looked at me down there and said, "ok, well, we usually swab sores to test them but you don't have any. We'll swab anyway." I was a dummy and forgot to call them back three days after to get my results. I let it go because I'm scatter-brained and assumed I was ok.

Now I've been with my new boyfriend for two years, exclusively. I just recently found a pimple on my outer labia and freaked out. It didn't look like a herpes-sore (I checked online) but just a regular pimple. It didn't hurt or anything and went away after a few days. I shave on an almost-regular basis and rarely get razor burn but I know sometimes shaving can cause pimples. My boyfriend itches "down there" sometimes and he says it's affected him his whole life, even when he was a virgin. "I just have sweaty balls," he says. He sometimes doesn't rinse all the soap off his downstairs area and it causes him to itch and get irritation down there, giving him tiny red bumps that don't hurt or look like herpes. They go away after a couple days and I've only seen them once. I guess I'm just paranoid, but my question is this..... could I still have herpes? If I have it, so does my boyfriend because we don't use condoms. We've never had any of the symptoms besides what I said on here.

Ok. I've been battling a UTI for a while now (about 2 months) with two different sets of antibiotics and now my outer labia is itchy and kinda sore (no bumps though). I bought some Vagisil and applied it a couple times yesterday to my outer labia and it helped with the itching. I read on the Vagisil box that antibiotics can cause yeast infections, so I looked up the symptoms of a yeast infection. I have all the symptoms EXCEPT the clumpy or smelly discharge. My discharge is normal and there's no foul smell. I've checked my vagina (in and out) every day for a week now and I don't see any bumps or herpes-sores. I'm so paranoid about it. When I was at the doctor for the second time about the UTI, I told him my herpes story. He told me that I would know if I had it and I would have blisters that would cause a lot of pain. He also said that the first time I came in about my UTI, they did a scraping of the inside of my vagina for STDS like trich, chlamydia and vaginitis and my results came back negative. He said they didn't test me for herpes but he said if it hasn't shown itself in two years, I don't have it.

I guess what I'm asking is this..... am I just being paranoid? I haven't had any symptoms of herpes besides this recent itching and slight burning on my outer labia... and could this have come about because of the antibiotics? Could I have a yeast infection and not have the clumpy discharge? The itching and burning has only been going for a few days. Also, I only wear cotton panties. I just wanted to get someone else's opinion on the matter. Any advice would be great, thank you.

Default a honest answer for the worrier

Ok, natuarlly people worry when they think something is wrong.
The pimple you described is from excessive bacteria in your vagina...the same thing happens on a teen's face. Excessive bacteria can be caused by many things...from what you said...this is what I think.
You and your boyfriend are passing fungi back and forth through intercourse. He has what is commonly called...jock itch. It is a simple compound fungus from heat and moiture (sweat.) When it enters your vagina and uterus it meets a lot of bacteria and fungi that is naturally there. Your body grows more bacteria to fight off the increased level of fungi. This led to the pimple growth and your current yeast infection.
Tell your boyfriend to wear boxers...this cuts down on the amount of heat in his groin area. Also, insist that he air dries after showering, instead of just towel drying. This could be done from waving the towel after wiping or by borrowing your hair dryer. The next thing may trip you out since you are a worry wart...but here goes. Buy a can of tinactin (athlete's foot) spray. Have your boyfriend spray this after showering once per day. Yes, it is sold for athlete's foot, but the fungi on his testes is the same fungi that sets up residence on a man's foot.
Treat yourself for a yeast infection with the 3 day cream, starting the day after you finish your last dose of the anti-biotic.
Refrain from intercourse for two weeks to allow his fungi to go away and your ph balance to return to normal after the upheval of fungi and bacteria in your body during this UTI condition.
I am not a doctor, so if you are still worried or think that I am sending you a case of BS via the web...then by all means do what you think is best and the two of you visit your respective docs.
In all honesty, I have a Masters in biochem and I thought you might have been embarresed to get the same diagnosis from a doctor or may just be one of the many or skip medical care due to no medical coverage.
Good luck...but be sure to have your boyfriend treat himself too, cuz you will just get it again!
