Hi I am a mother of 2 kids. I have a 1year old and a 2 year old. Now this is my first time writting a blog but I thought I would see if someone out there could give me some advice. I have had many period problems since I was 15 years old and not one doctor found the problem till I was 25. After my daughter was born I went to see this great doctor in my home town and he found that I had endometrosis at that time he went in and removed as much as he could,he also found that I had fibroids as well. Once he removed all that he could he put me on the nuva ring which made me stay on my cycle for almost 3 months non-stop. When the nuva ring didnt work he then put me on the depo shot I have been on it for 3 months now the first month I came on stayed on for 1 1/2 weeks went off and the spotted for another week. The 2nd month I came on for a week went off for 2 days and spotted for 1 week. Now this month I came on for a week and then went off for a week and then came back on for another week now in between these periods I hurt all the time and my stomache is slightly swollen. I had an appointment for this past monday jan 4 and when I went to my shock when he did my exam he found that more than likely I also have adenomyosis how much can a woman take. So since I have tried like every birth control that I can have so the only step left for me is a Hysterectomy. I also still wanted one more child but I am sick of going through the pain and bleeding every month. I also stay tired and sleepy and I dont feel that fair to my two children that I have now seeing that my son came at 25 weeks and my daughter tried to come at 7 months neither was a walk in in the park. So I ask myself do I want to get my health together for the 2 I have or do I wanna stay sick and try to have one more? Please if anyone has advice give it ................PLEASE.........

oh i wish i could give you some real advice, but whats right for me given those set of circumstances isnt necessarily right for you.

i will tell you that we have three lovely kids and I wouldnt trade them for anything in the world. i will also admit that two was an awful lot easier to handle then three is. we are going to struggle a bit to send all three to college, especially since the last two are only 22 months apart.

have you discussed this with your SO? what is their opinion? whatever decision you make, your SO is going to have to be ok with it too.

Hi, I just wrote a post for the first time today as well. I both of these at the present time and fibriods. My doctor took me off birth control I can not longer take them since they not longer work in my favor. After two weeks of heavy, abnormal bleeding and sever pain I was told that my uterus has to come out at this point. My only problem is that I have never had children and having only been married 4yrs. my husband wants them but it's not looking good for us right now given all of my current issues. I don't want to take the risk but my husband wants kids.

I say to you since you already have them there is no need for you to suffer the process any longer and enjoy the children you have. They need you now, so take care of yourself so they can enjoy you.

    Best wished to you

    Default Thanx for the reply

Hey thanks for the reply! I have been thinkin since I posted my story on here and I came to the conclusion that I am going to go through with the surgery! Since I do have 2 kids I am going to focus on my babies that I have. I have been thinking and thinking and thinking since the endometrosis is attacking the muscle part of my utrus I think it is time to throw in the towel. I havent felt like myself in so long, and too you I say if you want kids I think that you should put your health first and if yall really want kids check in to having your eggs frozen and find someone to carry your child for you. I thought about it but I think I will count my blessings and keep it moving.I was worried at first because me and the father of my children are not together and if I should meet someone and that person didnt have kids how would they feel about that but I have come to the conclusion that they have to accept me the way I am. But I have been through so much since the birth of my two kids and I am really to the point that its not worth it too me any more but good luck to you and your husband and let me know how things turn out.

I am a 40 year old female with a long history of fibroids, ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I was diagnosed when I was 21. I suffered terrible menstrual cramping and very heavy periods and would have to be in bed the whole time. I have tried birth control pills, injections and 3 laproscopies. After all those treatments failing, I gave myself the best birthday present ever when I turned 40, a total hysterectomy and I feel like a new woman. Everyone is different but I do have a little bit of pain on the left side which is the ovary that gave me trouble. I think its scar tissue from all the surgeries I have had over the years. I don't have children and accepted the fact that being a single female I would adopt or just not have any at all. For me it was totally worth it having everything taken out. I also had to think about if I ever had a daughter would I want her to suffer like me. I could hardly stand seeing myself suffer much less a daughter.
I think your two kids will appreciate you in the long run being back to a normal mommy.
