Hey everyone,
I have had PCOS for a little over two years and I have had no complications besides an irregular period which was finally controlled by 50mg birthcontrol. However just recently I have had lower right pelvic pain and I went to my doctor and she did a pelvic exam and my right ovary was very sensitive and painful. I had a transvaginal ultrasound today and though I had many cysts, they were all small/med. sized. Can these sized cysts still cause all of this pain in my pelvic area? Or am I looking at a seperate problem?

Also, my doctor wants me to try Metformin to control my PCOS instead of birth control. Whats the difference between birthcontrol and Metformin when regulating and controlling PCOS?
