it could possibly be a mirror effect i have a cyst on my left but i get pains on my right side from it
Hello
I am new to the forum and need to see if any of you can provide me with some feedback on my situation.
A bit of history, right ovary and tube removed in 1998 due to cysts, apendectomy
I have been complaining to my doctor for years about pain about 2 inches on the right side of my navel. As I have had several laproscopic procedures, I thought the pain may be adhesions. The pain is pretty much constant unless I am not being active. I had an vaginal ultrsound at the end of December that showed nothing irregular. I opted for yet another laproscopic procedure to find the source of my pain. When I woke up from surgery I was informed that they found no adhesions, but they did find a golf ball sized cyst on my left ovary, not the side where my pain is. I am a bit confused as to why a ultrsound would not show a cyst the size of a golf ball. I could not believe it when the doctor told me that draining the cyst on my left side would possibly get rid of the pain on my right side. Monday I will go back to work and after a few hours on my feet I know I will be right back to where I started
Thank you

Thank you for your reply. I am now 7 days post op and my left side, where the cyst was drained is great, but my right side is still causing me a great deal of pain. I think my next stop will be to someone who specializes in internal medicine. I did think about the mirror effect, but now that the left ovarian cyst has been dealt with I do not think it is related
