I went to the doctors(coloscopy) on Friday and got a biopsy done on my cervix. I had 2 abnormal PAP Smears in a row. So, I was sent to a specialist. I am very nervous as to what my results, are going to be. They had a resident do it, and she did 2 PAP Smears, and a biopsy.
The dr. was there too, and she told me that I would have cramping and bleeding for a couple hours after the biopsy. Well, it is now Monday and I have periodic cramping and only bleed when I am sleeping. I have been told by a nurse that the bleeding/spotting can last up to a week. Also, on this Monday I am starting to feel nauseated. The cramping was so bad Sunday night, that I started to cry.
I just want to know if there is a group I can talk to who went through the same thing I did. Also, if some of these symptoms are normal? I am going to call the hospital I went to where I got the biopsy done and talk to the doctor just to make sure, but I just don't know who to talk to about all of this. I would love to find an online chat group I could voice my opinions and worries too, who have been through a cervical biopsy.
Any help would be wonderful...
Hi there
I have gone to many different procedures and one of them is the one you had.
I had all the same symptoms as you do and do not worry it will go away. You are not used to it and it was your first time so bare with it. Try not to stress too much about it. Some things we can't change and we have to get used to these new uncomfortable changes. I am not sure if there are any chats out there, but there must be. Do a bit of research and see what you come up with. It should take about couple of weeks for your results, even if they don't call you can always grab the phone and call them. Make sure you do make a follow up appointment to discuss your results and to see what was the cause and what options are available for you.
I hope I helped a bit.
If you have any questions just let me know.
Kathy
