To start, I had an hysterectomy about 14 years ago. Now I have been having problems with urine accidents. I have had to wear a pantyliner everyday. If I sneeze, bend, or sometimes it just happens, a little drip will happen. It is enough to know when it happens. Sometimes when I pee and have finished and start to get up, I pee more but don't feel it coming from my bladder (if that makes sense) I have also had issues with my bowel movements. It seems that it moves toward my vaginal area. I sometimes feel that I have to place pressure toward my rectum from my vaginal wall. Well enough was enough, I seeked an answer. After a exam and some awkward pushing, I was told that my bladder has dropped down unto my vaginal wall and that I have rectocele, where the wall between the rectum and vaginal wall has weaken and is similiar to a hernia. These things have been happening for roughly a year. At the point where I am how, surgery was suggested. I have read what I can on the internet about this type of surgery and some of the info makes me nervous. I will have vaginal wall repair and a bladder sling. Has anyone had this type surgery and if so how was your experience. I just turned 40 and feel that repair is what I should do. The thoughts of continuing with this for the rest of my life is depressing. Thanks in advance for any responses.
I had a bladder issue, similar. I have a lift which worked for a short time...I was 27 and a active softball player. I didn't last long. Now I am 49 and have been living with it since. I also sought advice recently and was told that I should have a surgery where they would sue a mesh sling. I have heard so many bad things about the mesh that I have decided to just work on strengthening my stomach with exercise and the Kegel to strengthen the vaginal area. I will not have another surgery that offers little resolution, but may increase my need for more surgeries if the mesh does not work.
