lower pelvic pain

Hiya,

I've been having mostly on the left side lower pelvic pain for many weeks. Sometimes it radiates out and hurts on the right side and tummy feels a bit bloated. Other times it leaves little sharp pains on the left side. When I went for a walk the other week it really hurt on the left side. I have a history of IBS but I know what that pain feels like (It usually subsides after using the bathroom or after a day or two.) This feels different. I'm also getting chills from time to time, not so good. <_<.

I am on birth control (perfect use) and sexually active. Though I am overweight. Last month at my annual I checked out fine for STDS and such like that. I've had 2 what seems to be normal withdrawal bleeds these last two months (they always come on time more or less, third or fourth day of placebo (evening) and my hpt tests seem to be negative so I'm probally not pregnant but could I be?

I scheduled a doctor's visit at Planned Parenthood to just get one more pregnancy test to rule it out (I'd be 8+ weeks if I were preg.) in case I'm screwing up with testing and maybe I can talk to them about it.

What do you guys think?
Stress from my IBS?
Ovarian Cyst (Even from Birth control, could they still pop up?)
Something with my GI tract?

Any help would be appreciated.

Side note: Most of the time it's dull pain on left side (iliac region) but hurts more when I sit down, doesn't go away when I lay down.

I've also been urinating a lot but the pill (Yaz) does that to me normally, so don't know if it could be a UTI.

It could be either cysts or IBS, you can still get cysts even on birth control as I've had some while taking the pill. It's probably wise to get it checked out just in case, it's impossible to say which problem is causing your symptoms because they can both cause similar pains (as I'm sure you already know). The only other thing I can think of is a tight hip flexor, that's the area where the iliopsoas is so that's a possibilty too. Sorry I can't be more help but do get checked out.

Bah, so this pain/ bloating has been varying in intensity and such.. but I'm beginning to think it's an UTI.

Sunday I went to a play and as I was getting to the play I was noticing it was getting really hard to sit again. Extreme pain on left side and then radiating outwards once again. In the middle of the play I suddenly had to go really bad and had to run out and use the restroom. I was fine for the rest of the play (which was an hour left more or less.) but I was in a ton of pain (Balloon anyone?) with piercing pain. Food helped a little bit (I was a bit hungry since I didn't eat much.) Today it's not as severe but still bloating and pain (kind of on both sides now, but more on left.) Been going on for at least a month or two.and I've been lazy even though in pain...
So Saturday will go to the clinic (have an appointment) and hopefully they can do both a preg test (Just one more to rule things out) and at the same time can do a urine culture.

I'll update when I know more.
