Hi There,
I need your advice...
I am a 31 years old women, I had re-occuring thrush in the past which was treated with canestene which helped sometimes.. about a year ago i went to the doctor with re-occuring thrush (i thought it was at least) and she subscribed me with a 6 months oral treatment. Since then I changed partner once and a couple of months ago i started having the symptoms again only i didn't feel the itchiness. I decided to ask for a proper test and I had blood+swab+smear test. The blood results and swabs were all clear (no thrush or std) but they said there is abnormality in the smear which can be anything from infection to cancer...! I explained to the dr I am sure there is some sort of infection and he said I should take canestene.
I don't know what to do as I think that if the lab test says i don't have thrush i shouldn't take thrush medication!
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!
I think you need to ask a different doctor, if it isn't thrush it won't respond to canesten so get a second opinion.
