    Hi everyone,

I am desperately seeking answers. My abdomen has been getting bigger and bigger every month. I am so scared I could be pregnant and thinking maybe that I have uterine fibroids causing all my symptoms. I know that I should go to a doctor but I have already been and he wanted to do a cat scan and did a urine pg test which of course was negative. To do a Cat scan you have to sign a release saying you are absolutely sure you aren't pg and I couldn't do it. I have had my period every month, not always on time like before but it was definitely there.
I now have new symptoms so I am wondering if fibroids can cause these:

    Heartburn everyday
    insomnia
    swelling in ankles and hands
    cramping
    extreme fatigue
    weight gain of 22 lbs.

Putting this all down makes me feel ridiculous.
But I have neg. pg tests, my hubby had a vasectomy( but didn't pass the first time and never went back) and I have full periods

So I just want to know if fibroids can cause these symptoms.

    Thanks so much,

    Nicole

Nicole, please go back to your doctor and get the tests done. Some of the symptoms you describe are typical for ovarian cancer and while I don't want to frighten you I really urge you to go and get tested because if it is that it needs to be caught quickly. Please don't be scared as it could be a whole host of other things, large ovarian cysts could cause the same symptoms, but it really cannot be left without investigation.

    Thanks Sarah,

That is very scary but I have had blood tests and I am hungry and not losing my appetite at all.
My doctor also told me that when you have cancer you lose weight and I am gaining.
But I am waking up every night now so I will go back to him soon and see what is going on.

    Nicole
