    Hello,

My name is Madeline and I am 19 years old from Australia. I had a laparoscopy to remove a dermoid cyst on my left ovary late last year. Recently, I have felt extreme pain in my abdomen when my bladder is full, and frequent urinating directly after having a drink or even soon after I have just emptied my bladder. Does anybody else feel this intense pain where you need to urinate but can barely move to run to the bathroom? Sometimes, my ovaries appear swollen and cause a visible bump on the surface of my abdomen on either side where my ovaries are located. This causes my lower abdomen to bloat in and out as if they are spasming..... my gp does not believe that this happens...
I am hesitant to start the process of internal ultrasounds and pap smears all over again because it is so painful, especially as they will ask for me to drink litres of water which my bladder cannot hold without feeling like it is going to burst. I just wondered if I am alone in this or if any other women feel these same pains and can give me some insight into what might be wrong or what I can do to help myself.

I would appreciate so much any information or similar stories you could share with me, or even if you would just like to chat if you are going through a similar thing right now.

    Thank you so much

    Hello,

Thank you so much for your reply, it is nice to hear from somebody. Im so sorry that you have had to go through this again and again. Did you have pains like the ones I am feeling when you knew that another was growing back? I went to the doctors the other night and explained everything that had already happened and he said "It sounds like a urine infection"..... to no suprise it wasnt, i just think he wasnt listening to anything I had said. I have to have another ultrasound to see if there are any growths, but im worried that I wont be able to drink the litres of water they need you to beforehand because it hurts so much when i have to hold barely anything in my bladder. I have found that to be one of the most frustrating things, for years doctors just brushing your worries aside as if you are making a huge deal out of a few cramps. I think about having a family too and I worry that it might not be so easy for me either. Im sorry that you have been faced with the option of a hysterectomy, is it something you would consider as young as you still are? I hope for you that you can find another way to help stop your cysts returning so often. Have you found anything that helps with the pains? I find that alot of the pills you can buy over the counter for menstrual pain make me very nauseas so i dont take them, and taking painkillers has no lasting effect. I hope that you and your partner can stay hopeful and believe that eventually you will find a way to end these pains for good. In the mean time I am greatful to have met somebody going through something similar, and I hope to say in touch.

    Madeline
