    Default New vaginal dryness...

    Hi ladies,

For about a week I had symptoms of itching, burning, and discharge I'd describe as white-ish, almost yellow (cottage cheesy at times until progressed to mainly fluid like). Also, pain with intercourse.

I had all those symptoms for about a week then they all went away, all except for 1 thing - VAGINAL DRYNESS!! I've never had a problem with dryness. In fact I used to get excessively wet even before orgasm. Over the past few days even after orgasming, I'm completely dry! This is all new since the possible "infection"

Does anyone know what this might be? Also since the majority of the symptoms have gone, does it sound like the problem seems to be resolving on it's own?

Thanks for any advice. This is frustrating and I appreciate any help

    JC

It is always good to seek medical advice from professionals when you have such problems. Nobody can tell you for sure what it is unless the doctor examines you and order some tests. From the symptoms, it sounds like vaginal candidiasis but I am not making the diagnosis yet. There are many other conditions which cause vaginal dryness. I also can't say if the problem is going away by itself. It might come back.

My guess is you may have an infection, due to the discharge prior to the dryness. It may seem like the symptoms went away but the infection may still linger, causing the dryness. Since you had yellow cottage cheesy discharge, it's probably best you go in and have an exam done.

So here is a little update. 3 weeks of symptoms now...
Got the lab results back and they said it wasn't YI, BV, Chlamydia, or Gonorrhea. They just told me it grew out some abnormal bacteria but she wasn't able to tell me what. What could it possibly be??
Burning is still gone. A tiny bit of discharge still (milky whitish) and at times some itching.
Still mild pain with sex and still vaginal dryness.

Anyone know what other bacteria this could be?

There's all manner of things it could be, no-one can possibly answer that except the lab where it was grown or your doctor. I find it strange your doctor doesn't know what the bacteria is, perhaps she needs to get in touch with the lab where the culture was grown and find out! If not I think I'd be asking for a second opinion from another doctor and possibly a second culture.
