Exclamation I'm not sure where to put this, but please help me

For the past 5 days, I have been feeling unwell. I've been feeling bloated, constipated, and my right side and left side are both very tender around my pelvic bone, especially on the right side. I also get pain right behind my belly button, like a dull ache. I've had the right sided pain and constipation before, and I went to the hospital for it because I was sure that it was appendicitis. Turned out that I was just severely 'blocked.'

However this time with the pain, comes something new. I was using the loo, and when I urinated, I noticed that my urine was orangey on the paper, though in the bowl it looked brilliant yellow. There was no odd smell that I could discern, but urinating gave me a bit of a burning feeling.

The past two days I had a lot of pizza, and today I had a lot of nuts (hazelnuts and a small handful of walnuts), and even more pizza after my exercise. I played tennis with a friend and walked around, something my body is not used to doing. When I swung the raquet or chased after a ball, the pain in my right side was a little worse but it would always go away.

My mind is trying very hard to get me to think it is an abdominal aortic aneurysm or some kind of kidney failure, but if I had any kind of AAA, it would have shown up on the EKG I had earlier this month (July 9th I believe) as a heart murmur, or something would have shown in the blood tests I had as well, correct? This is concerning me greatly, as I don't know if it is a UTI or if it's IBS, or if my appendix is in danger of rupturing, or if my aorta is going to explode on me.

Please help me clarify what is going on with me; I am very frightened.

Again, the second you mention any aneurysm it is not going to be the case. The rupture of things in the intestinal tract would cause bleeding out and an emergency 911 call (diagnosed by someone else in the room)...and here you are typing...so no dead Crystal. It would not show up as anything until it flat out happened.

If you are bloated and sore inside then it is very very likely going to be because of the high fats foods you ate causing mass constipation and yucky feelings. Your arota is not going to burst, if it did you would not have enough time to even grab the phone to call for help. If your kidneys were failing you would be peeing blood, and no not your period, actual blood in your urine and it would not be much longer before you would need some serious medical attention. Your appendix, if it were to burst, would cause extreme crippling pain to the degree of needing someone else to help you out. IBS can happen but it would need to be very frequent in order to be diagnosed and only a professional can make that diagnosis. You may be feeling under the weather (I am too ) but you are not about to die because of it.

Thank you ItsASecret. Maybe it's from all the red food I've been eating, or I just rubbed myself raw down there (ew gross). Either way, if it isn't better in a couple days, I'll talk to my mother about seeing my doctor. She won't like it, but it's better than being sick!

Or maybe it could be because I played some tennis today (which I haven't played in six years) and walked a bit as well, which my body is not used to (because I'm so lazy)

If constipation is a problem magnesium tablets are excellent for sorting it out and keeping it at bay. I take 3 250mg tablets of magnesium oxide every day because I used to get constipated quite often and I never do now as long as I take them. If I eat alot of fibre I drop it down to 2 that day but if I eat rubbish (we all do sometimes!) I stick to 3 and haven't had any constipation problems since.

I've been eating a lot of fiber in the past few days and things are moving again, but I'm still straining to get something out, and there's still a bit of pain (burning) when I urinate. When I strain, I get a pretty localized pain near my right hip, and it's about....7 on a pain scale of 1-10. It's not constant; it goes away, and comes back, and then goes away again.

I have a bit of an upset stomach today, but I think it's because I'm drinking water, and ate a pretty bland, fiber-full cereal without any milk, along with about...six prunes. I used to like the taste of them, but I hate them now. I also had a lot of greasy pizza last night around 7, so I think my stomach is tweaking out from that too.

I just got the pain again, and it feels like someone is squeezing something down by my hip. It's weird and uncomfortable, but I've had this pain before (June '09) and it was nothing but being blocked up, as I said. I am just worried because it has lasted a bit longer than last time--I went to the hospital straight away the night I first had pain.

I have no fever, and I have not vomited (yet! I hope not to!). I am just concerned because it has gone on since last Wednesday, around about. If it was appendicitis, it would already have burst, right? I just don't want to bother my mother about a doctor visit; she hates when I do that, even if it's for my annual check up!

Gas, fatty foods again, and over thinking minor regular body aches. Nothing to worry about.

If it was appendicitis then you would not be thinking about whether or not you should do something about it because the pain hits very hard and very fast. I highly highly doubt you have it.

Well, icing my hip helped for a bit, but after a while it stopped working. Maybe I should try Bengay before bed? Maybe my poor posture put something out of joint and it got extra aggravated from all the tennis and walking I did yesterday. I did eat really healthy today though! (*proud*)

My temperature last hour was 97.4, give or take, which is just fine for me. I have not been nauseous.

Maybe Because of all the doritos I ate yesterday as well (and the pizza), somehow the spices on them caused....I don't know, spicy pee? ...That sounds weird, but maybe it's possible. It's just every time I pee it feels like someone lights a match down there.

Again, thank you ItsASecret for helping me all the time. Guess what! I got some blood tests back today and everything is functioning normally (as of July 13!)

All of those serious problems you are thinking about would have you on the ground in pain and you would not be playing tennis, walking around, or likely even sitting here communicating with the forum. Most likely your current diet and possibly lack of exercise has led to intestinal issues. With the fiber try taking miralax aka clear lax or more specifically polypropylene glycol or another a saline laxative. Just fiber by itself will actually increase constipation after it starts. Some probiotics may also be helpful. Avoid stimulant laxatives. Unless used with care they will only lead to more problems. It can take weeks or months of laxatives and fiber to fix your colon and the rest of the digestive tract after an extended period of poor diet or inactive lifestyle.

I was stuck in bed from health issues and when my doctor palpated she found my colon to be bigger around than her forearm. That was 8months ago and I've finally returned things to mostly normal. I was having so much pain I nearly went to the ER a couple times. I saw a gynecologist because orgasms were leading to such severe pain I'd be rolling around in bed with my vision blacking out and lines of pain going down my legs. Lots of things were discussed, tests were run, and in the end all tests were normal so I was sent back to the GI doctor because digestive tract and reproductive pain can get confused with each other or cause each other. While the tests found nothing the laxatives and fasting required for barium tests mostly fixed my digestive tract. I just had to make sure things kept moving with saline laxatives for the next 2 weeks. The mysterious orgasm pain, bloated feeling, and cramps right above each hip and between my ribs just disappeared once my digestive tract was unstuck and my colon came back to the proper size.

The urinary stuff I can't entirely explain though. Have you been taking any vitamin pills lately? B vitamins either by themselves or found in a mulitvitamin will cause bright yellow pee. Otherwise coupled with the pain or burning sensations I'd see a doctor about checking for a urinary tract infection. It's possible it could be entirely unrelated to your other problems.

Aah, thank you, Kira for all that information! I am sorry to hear about your pain, but I am glad that you have gotten better.

I have been eating a lot of fiber, but if that will exacerbate my problems, I don't know what else I can do. I do not have laxatives in the house, but there is Metamucil, so I can get fiber that way. I ate healthy today: A bowl of Kashi cereal, a sandwich made with 20 grain bread, two thin slices of ham and about a teaspoon of mustard, a salad of leafy greens with a little basil vinaigrette dressing, a red plum, a peach, and some peach yoplait light. This isn't all at the same time though of course! lol! I have also been drinking a lot of water.

I'm thinking that perhaps sitting on a metal chair for about an hour at my boyfriend's martial arts school (and then for two hours the next day) last friday and saturday could have assisted the pain in my hip/lower right ab area.

I have been taking one Women's One a Day multivitamin every day (or at least every one or two days). My mother says that she wants to give it a week to see if it clears up, but isn't that a little bit too long?

Hooray, good news! I slept with a pillow under my hips last night to see if that would help, and it did! Waking up, though, the pain's come back a bit, but it's hardly as bad as before! My back and abs hurt from tennis though, but that's fine; it's always worse the second day after exercising! I'm hoping I'll be fine. I'll talk to mom in a couple days if the burning sensation doesn't go away, and when I get a chance to go to the doctor, I'll mention the abdominal pain anyway, but hopefully it will just be nothing serious! Thank you to everyone for all of your help!
