When should u get a pap test?

Hi i am 18 i lost my virginity at 15 years. I started birth control 2 years ago but have never had a pap test. i was wondering if this is an important thing to get done

Of course it is, Bacon! Pap tests are used to detect the existence or non-existence of abnormal cells, which may be cancerous.

When you go and get one, be sure to do it when you aren't on your period, don't use any douching products for a few days before, and do not have sex for a couple days before the test. But go get it done, ok?

I had a pap smear when I was 16 as I had a friction burn/sore that just refused to heal. It took about 4 months to heal. It wasnt that bad, it was honestly just a little bit uncomfortable and cold. It did pinch a little bit. I would go and get one done, its well worth the piece of mind.

I believe the rule is if you are not sexually active you can begin at the age of 20. If you are under 20 and are sexually active it would be in your best interest to get one. Doctors recommend annual tests up to every three years.
