    Default Pain?

Okay, I honestly have no clue where else to post this but here goes.

Last night after I got home from a bike ride, I noticed the area on the both sides of the opening of my vagina is a bit itchy and kind of sore. The pain goes down inside a little bit as well. I just started riding my bike again and was wondering if it could be from the seat or should I be worried that it's some sort of infection?
I just started my period so it would be a few days before I could see a doc if it comes down to it. It's kind of a constant type of feeling. I don't know what is going on.

I should also say that it started on the day I started my period which was yesterday.
There is no discharge, no odor. Just a weird, itchy type of pain

Bike seats are very hard on the vulva so I'd avoid it until it calms down. Professional female cyclists use a protective lubricant to avoid the problem so it's very common to find bike seats irritating to the area.

what were you wearing when you went for the ride? Many womens pants and jeans have a seam directly up the middle between both legs and are often tight through the hips/crotch... all that rubbing on a few mile bike ride can create some major irritation!

I think you've probably got rub rash, especially if the first/only time you've noticed this itchy pain is after your ride.

Get bike shorts with the cushion sewn in, they makes ones that are womens specific. And look into women's specific saddles. Not all bike seats are created equal - finding one that was designed with a woman's anatomical features in mind can make a huge difference. It did for me anyway!

Well since I only have jeans, that is what I wear. I don't have any sort of riding pants or anything like that (they look uncomfortable).
I was debating on getting a better bike seat with more of a cushion. I had one on a previous bike of mine and it worked alright. It was definately better than the normal bike seat so I might get another one of those. I do have a woman's bike so you would think it would be slightly better.

It doesn't bother me really until after I go to the bathroom. It's slightly just inside the vagina and it's just kind of an annoying pain. I think toilet paper irritates it a bit after using the bathroom since then it's kind of sore. Doesn't help i'm on my period so that's not cool. You guys don't think it's some sort of infection or anything? I had planned on another ride today but now I don't know if I should if it's all irritated.

I never had this problem before with my bikes.

Good advice here, I can only add to buy a pair of gym-type running shorts that are loose in the crotch and won't chafe. Throw those on over the bike shorts with the pad.

Well I'll look into it but what will the padding of the shorts do if it just helps my butt and not up front? That is where the pain is :-\
I've never had this happen before so I don't know. Would a padded seat work out okay to?

The pad is in the crotch area. It's specifically designed to protect your vajayjay and clitoris, as well as pad your bum. They work pretty good. I know when I don't wear them, I sit on the seat different and it kills my back.

Well like I said in my other post, I'll look into it more. I do need something though, very sore currently.
Even sore after going to the bathroom. I think the toilet paper irritates it a bit. So you honestly think it's just from doing that long ride yesterday and nothing else is wrong? I freak easy when I get sick or have a random soreness or something.

Considering the first and only time you've had this pain is after your ride, I do really believe it is irritation from the clothes you were wearing when you went biking.

Bike shorts (WITH THE SEWN IN CHAMOIS!!!) will he a huge help
A better saddle will be a huge help (the ones they sell on the walmart bikes are ridiculously horrible)
Loose fitting/soft/stretchy clothing pants will be a huge help

I'd say if you're still feeling same pain in another week you might want to go to the doctor just to make sure everything's fine, but if the pain subsides or goes away, you'll know it was from the ride.

Our lady parts are pretty sensitive, a few miles of constant rubbing/pressure/irritation can cause us some serious discomfort!
