about 7 months ago i went for my first pap smear, the tests cam back abnormal
the doctor said to wait 3 months, and come back, i did and again abnormal

i then went to a different doctor this morning who took a sample (i think thats what is called) of my cervix to test it
even though hes told me not to worry, im freaking out.
should my partner get tested - i heard there are no tests for men, but if he has hpv, how will i know he isnt always giving me he virus..
and if hpv never goes away, does that mean we'll just keep re-infectin eachother?
also, i got the shot before i got my first pap so do i have to get the shot again?

thank you SOOOO much in advanced,

    a super-confused teenager

the reasont why the doctor tested your cervix is becuase he ws looking for changes in the cells to indicate what stage of h.p.v. you have, there are 3 stages i think.human papiloama virus is warts and can cause cervical cancer,it is rare but does happen and which is why women have to have regular pap smears to detect changes. once you have it i dont think you can 'keep getting it' back and forth but i am not a doctor so it will be good for you to talk to your doctor about this.
your right it does not go away and means that you can infect other people with it, but i have heard of people having it and eventualey passing it out of their system but i could be wrong on that.
h.p.v. is a common s.t.d. thses days an many people have it, i was diagnosed with it 4 yrs ago and i freaked out also as i heard it can cause cancer in women.
look around on s.t.d. sites to eleveate your concerns a little and make an appointment with your doctor too as he/she will be the best to help ease your concern, hope i was semi helpful ,p.s i dont want to scare you so please see a professional to get the best answers, good luck and try not to stress out about it too much
