Default Hi, I'm new! I have a question...

I was in the ER on Saturday because of abnormal menstrual bleeding. I had been on for two months and was feeling very sick so I decided to just go (since I don't have health insurance I was very reluctant). While there they did a pelvic exam and ultrasound and they found a cyst on my ovaries. I went to a doctor yesterday and she did a pap smear. She also found the cyst but she said it was small so she wasn't going to do anything. She led me to believe I could do all of the same activities as normal but I am unsure of whether or not I can have intercourse. She said it was very small and full of part fluid, part tumor. Has anyone else had this same case and were you able to have sex? I have a boyfriend and we used to have sex regularly and I hope it doesn't effect our relationship (although he says he is 100% fine, I just know that sex helps us out when we aren't feeling very close). It's heart breaking to think we aren't able to have it anymore. TIA!

    Hi.
When a doctor has given you the advice that you can still do normal activities, that should be okay, but maybe you should consider getting a second opinion if you are still worried about it.
I have not had the same problem, but a second opinion should ease your mind about it.

When you say its heart breaking to think use can't have it anymore, you should believe your bf, as he respects the fact you are having some problems and is there for you.
I'm sure things will be sorted out soon and i hope use get through it ok

Sorry I put this on the wrong forum! =) But yeah a second opinion would be good for me. I suppose him and I could also just try it and see if I am in any pain. Of course I believe him but I am very insecure. He knows that and has been absolutely NOTHING but amazing to help me get through this and calm my nerves. It really is nice to know he cares for me so deeply. I am sure it will be ok, I just keep reading that these cysts cause extreme pain so I get a little nervous! But mine IS small so maybe that makes all the difference.

Yes it really is very nice to know he cares so much for you.
If you are very insecure about it maybe its best off not to try anything until you are fully sure, last thing you want or need is to be in very bad pain with it.
Go back to your doctor and tell him/her that your are very worried about it and you would like to be re-checked. and ask the doctor about all your queries.

I'm not sure that's the way it's supposed to work.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that is NOT the way it's supposed to work: you should have sex BECAUSE you're feeling close, not have sex as a cure for NOT feeling close.
    But maybe that's just me...
