Alright so I'm already planning a doctor's visit this week but I wanted your ideas first.
So lately my vagina has been a bit sore and itchy. When I use the bathroom and I wipe, it gets extremely irritated and then hurts for a while and then stops. Sex has been less than pleasurable lately, usually because I hurt afterwards and sometimes when he enters me. My diet has not changed but I have been bike riding (even though it's not been so much lately with the weather changing). Back when I first got my bike (about 3 months ago now I'm guessing), my vagina got extremely irritated and sore and that was thanks to my seat which I changed pretty quickly. I never had much problem afterwards except for this weird irritating pain and itchiness once and a while.
Could this be some sort of infection or something? I've talked to my fiance about this (he's the only man i've been able to share my nastys with and him not flip out) and we know it's nothing like an STD or anything like that. Last week we were able to have sex a few times without me hurting but then the last time it hurt and then I ended up with this pain. Does anyone have any clues? Like I said, I am planning a doctor visit this week just because I cannot stand it anymore and I also want to change my birth control method since these pills are really messing with my body. I'd just like to hear your ideas and give me some tips on what to ask my doc when I get there.
I wash it everyday but I always rinse right away. The soap I use is scented but not heavily scented but I've NEVER had the problem with my soap before. The very inside of my vaginal opening is red but no where else but that is where the pain and itchy feeling is, right inside.
Well, I would still mention to your doc how you usually cleanse the area and see if that has anything to do with it. Hmm, did you change the brand of pads/ tampons you use? My best guess is it's an allergic reaction to something, but only the doc will be able to tell for sure.

Absolutely nothing has changed in how I live life. My pads are the same, my diet is the same, the only thing different is I've been exercising more since getting my bike and we go on 4-8 mile rides whenever we can (thanks to the cold weather now). That is the ONLY thing that has changed. My soap has NEVER bothered me in all the years i've used it, my pad brand hasn't changed or anything like that.
Do you shower immediately after you're done? Even if it's cool out, you'll still sweat down there...leaving it sweaty for awhile can make ideal conditions for a yeast infection.
No, I don't shower usually until the next morning. I haven't really gone riding lately because of the cool weather. I go to the bathroom right after getting back to help dry it out. I don't have any real symptoms for a Yeast Infection though so I have no idea.
Planning a doctor's visit tomorrow so i'm hoping something good comes out of that.
So after talking to my mom a little bit today and explaining to her what's going on she thinks I have a yeast infection. It does itch and it does burn a bit so i'm guessing that is probably what it is. It's probably something i've had for a while and actually didn't know because soon after getting my bike I started hurting and burning down there and then it would stop for a bit and then flare up again. Still going to see my doc though just to make sure that's all it is. What do they normally do in terms of testing for a yeast infection? What can I do to prevent them from coming back?
Well I went to my doc on Monday and she told me it is in fact a yeast infection. She didn't do the whole open me up and look in type of exam but did look on the outside. I told her I haven't had any discharge and it just hurts and itches and she asked if one is more than the other and i told her they are about the same. She gave me a pill called Fluconazole, well, actually she gave me two. It's a pill that actually helps yeast infections. She told me to take one after I got the prescription that day and then to take one two days later (which is today). I have seen a significant change since taking it the first day. She also lowered the dosage on my birth control pills so I'm hoping I can start loosing this nasty weight that I gained over the past 3 years.
