im having an op on thursday to remove a polyp in my womb plus a d&c with a general anesthetic and this my first op and i hate the thought of having the IV in my hand and the anesthetic as i dont know what to expect. does anyone know how long i will be in the op for? i have been told i will NOT need a breathing tube put in as i wont be under long enough to need a tube and will have an oxygen mask on but asleep. what does this stage mean? im a fully under or like a twilight state? just would like your experience if you have had this op before and how it went. i have been told i will be in as a day case. thanks in advanced.![]()
They have this down pat. They will place the IV and you will start to feel drowsy and the next thing you know you will be waking up and it's all done. As you get more alert they will offer you some juice and maybe crackers and in short order you will be getting dressed and ready to head home. You will be just fine.
