Hello,
I am quite prone to UTI's, up until 3 months ago I hadn't had one for about 2 years though.
I am 19 weeks pregnant tomorrow and am just being treated for my 2nd UTI in a space of a month, this is my 3rd pregnancy.
What worries me is since having this UTI I am suffering with incontinence, after I have been for a wee I do try and make sure I squeeze every last drop out but when I have finished & leave the bathroom a few drops leak out. It's starting to really stress me out, I'm worrying about labour as I tore really bad in my previous 2 births and if I'm already suffering slight incontinence I dread to see what I'll be like after another birth.
Do you think this slight incontinence is associated with the UTI, and will it likely go when I get rid of the infection?
The doctor sent off a sample of urine for further testing but it didn't grow anything, yet when he did a dip test in the surgery right in front of me it showed up white cells. I was put on a weeks treatment of amoxicillan to begin with which did seem to shift it over the short term until a few days ago where all my symptoms returned - I am now on Cefradine capsules.
Help please advise.
I use to have ITI until my doctor told me yo : Pee after sex as soon as possible to clear the urethers, watch contact during sex ie vagina' do not touch id other parts have been played with without washing hands, do not wear tight clothing, wear cotton underware ( that really made a huge differance), drink fluids regularly and if I feel irritation drink 6 glassses of water right away as this pushes the bacteria out quickly. I did all that and all of a sudden no more problems. I hope that is helpful to you.
