hi itchy. i noticed that you posted on some of my posts on the yeast infection thread. you say you have itching and irritation, yet no infection. did the itching just start on it's own one day? did you have any event that led up to the itch? if it wasn't an infection, some kind of trauma? switch detergents or dryer sheets? different soaps? i have mentioned this before, and it is only because i have done SO MUCH RESEARCH on this that i can suggest it to you. vulvodynia is itch/irritation/burning/pain in the vulva for no apparent reason. it can start as an infection and the symptoms last even after the infection is gone, or it can have another cause, such as trauma.... anyway, there are some theories as to why women experience it: pelvic floor disorders, damaged nerves, allergies, hormones, birth control pills.... there are different treatments as well. prescriptions, pelvic exercises, creams.... have you talked to your doctor about this being a possibility? i have a hard time believing that we are all experiencing some vulvar discomfort without a reason. there HAS to be some reason why we feel this way. i was completely normal: never any infections, no bladder/yeast/bacterial. no trauma, no hormonal problems. NOTHING!! than BAM! and now i have been dealing with this for months. so if i were you i would keep investigating and try different things out. there is no reason we should have to suffer this way. the doctor that i am seeing treats vulvodynia, but we haven't gotten that far yet because we had to take care of the yeast first. by the way, i have never had any itching, just burning, redness/ irritation and discharge. i know how it can take over your life. there have been times i haven't even wanted to get out of bed. i am scared ALL THE TIME and am seeing a therapist. ridiculous, i know, but i guess i am kind of a hypochondriac and don't like things i can't control. anyway, good luck to you. i think we all need it!!!

Could it be an allergy? Have you eliminated all sources? Laundry detergent, cotton underwear, soaps? the derm told me to only wash with Cetaphil soap, that's it.

Sorry you have to deal with this I totally feel you though .. I've been through it. Months and month of stress because of that itch that just won't go away. Fresh Control intimate cleansing gel did the trick for me. Everything went back to normal after a week of using this only once a day Highly recommend it! Hope you find a cure soon .. and if you can get your hands on Fresh Control, go for it!

Hi, I know what your going through. I've had it for 6 years. I'm 31. Everyday I deal with a mild to severe itch. It literally controls my emotions, moods etc... It is extremely irratatong and I have spent thousands of dollars on all kinds of western doctors and alternative doctors and medicines. I've stopped using topical steroids and topical lidocain because it wasn't helping the problem only masking it. However I finally found a topical cream that helps the itch for a little while. I like it because it's all natural. Made by red moon herbs, you can find it online called "vital vulva". The first ingredient is wild yam root. It was so rewarding to actually use a product that calmed the itch, even if it is for 20 minutes or so. I feel your pain, believe me, I go through insane breakdowns over it and none of my friends understand. 6 years is a long time.

I meant "Moon made" herbs, vital vulva, not " red moon herbs"
