Thread: Ovarian cyst on left side with diarrhea and pain??? Is this normal?

Its normal for your body so yes, with my cyst that I get every month I get constipation and lots of gas as well severe heart burn ( I take some pepcid ac and zantac for when it acts up), I also have urge to urinate. TO each there own there isn't a true to bone text book case for every person. Cyst are painful I get them on my right they stab and stab before they rupture, I'm on the birth control pill (Trinessa) to try to prevent them I still have a cyst problem but over time the pill can control it. But mine rupture so I never have needed surgery to remove them. They found that I had a estrogen dominance in my body causing all the cyst, you can get your thyroid tested sometimes thats the root of cyst but usual its a hormone imbalance. I dont have PCOS but the disease PCOS is the cause of the cyst for some people. Best thing for them is birth control. At home take the pepcid ac or zantac for the heartburn, advil for the pain, and heating pads. I get one every single period cycle!!!! It does stink I got my first cyst at 28 just woke up and stabbing chronic pain in my right, ever since then..been having cyst.. cyst have no easy cure they give you Birth control basically so get started on birth control unless its so large they need to be removed. By the way It also took a year and a half or so to figure out I had a cyst problem. They finally did a transvaginal and found pelvic fluid which lead them to that I had a cyst rupture ( which is better for them to rupture than not to rupture you dont want surgery). But yeah it meant I was having cyst for over a year! They then did the blood work and found the hormone imbalance but no thyroid or PCOS issues or anything else. Geez... so dont' feel bad women issues are just really hard to diagnosis and figure out. They told me I had IBS and everything before finally realizing it. hah.

Endometriosis can also be a cause of cyst formation. The only way to diagnosis Endometriosis is by laproscopy. But digestive issues are common with Endometriosis, so its possible to have cyst and endo going on at same time. PCOS is another possibility, hormonal imbalance, thyroid or endocrine issues. It's true they do give birth control for it that's really about it unless it needs surgery. I've had cyst and they blow it off not a lot they can do unless its really large. It's tough the ruptures remind me of some sort of awful labor. Hope you get relief!

I got in with a gyno and all my bloodwork is picture perfect... No hormonal imbalances. However, she said she agrees with my previous doctor's diagnosis of endometriosis (this was ten years ago) and that the cyst I have is the type caused by endometriosis that doesn't go away on its own. I think she is going to try birth control to see if we can control it. It's interesting to me that endometriosis mimics IBS symptoms... I was told over and over that I had IBS but I never really bought that. I even was put on bipolar meds for two years even after failing the bipolar tests... My hormones were causing such mood fluctuations and misreable feelings. I asked my old doctor over and over to check me for hormonal or female problems and he just wouldn't. So I never really knew anything about endometriosis or female problems. Thankfully, I have a better doctor now and with the vaginal ultrasound they found this cyst and then the rest of the diagnosis has come about. I sure hope we can get it under control! Taking all the advil gives me heartburn :/ But it does seem to be the only thing that helps the pain a bit. That and heating pads.

I guess a laproscopy would be good for you to see how advanced your endo is. I didn't have a endo type of cyst, but have considered I could have it and would think about doing a lapro one day.. sorry that you have the disease my cousin has it it's pretty rough. Best of Wishes!
