Thread: STD Test Results, Worried

I had a gyn appointment yesterday (Tuesday) morning and had a general panel of STD and infection tests done around 9:30am. My doctor said they were most likely precautionary but it was better to rule everything out. He said if I didn't hear anything by the end of the week to call the office on Friday to find out the results.

I check my voicemail at 4:00pm today (Wednesday) and it is the office manager telling me the doctor wants to talk to me, and to call tomorrow morning. Am I crazy, or does this seem really fast? I thought it would at least take two days and now that they seem to have the results so quickly I am really concerned it means I have something.

Has anyone gotten test results this quickly, and if so, did anything good come of it?

When a swab is sent out it all depends on how backed up the lab is. If this is a relatively quick test on the top of the "to do for today" pile then it is possible that it was done quickly by the lab techs, maybe the doctor themselves depending on the test, and results sent out relatively quickly. There is no way to tell whether it is good news or bad news until you make the phone call.
