In the last few months I have noticed my discharge, going from normal and clear, to smelly and yellowish. I noticed it from the time I had unprotected sex with a friend, so I went to the hospital to get checked out and I am all clear from STI's. The doc gave me some medication for Bacteria Vaginosis a week before my period. I have just come off and I don't think it has worked so I am going to book another appointment in the next few days. A theory I had was that the guy I had sex with had quite a large penis and the sex was quite painful, I'm wondering if maybe it gave me an cervix infection.
I know I shouldn't really, but I've been searching the symptoms online and one of the possibilities is that it's cervical cancer which terrifies me.

Has anyone else had symptoms like mine?

Sounds like BV. When you went to the hospital did they send a culture out, or just do an exam/take a swab and say it was BV? If they cultured it or looked at some discharge under the microscope, it's pretty indicative of BV if bacteria grows out or there are clue cells present.

Sometimes a second course of antibiotics is needed to rid of the infection entirely.

I don't know what you mean by "sending a culture out", but she took some swabs to both look under the microscope and send away for the STI checks. I don't quite understand what she told me as science is a bit beyond me, but she said the microscope swab showed a slight bit of bacteria which is why she gave me the BV meds. But she also had a look internally when she took the swabs and said something about my cervix, that there was bacteria coming out which would normally be found inside or something. I got a bit confused. I guess I just need to book another appointment and hope I understand what she's telling me next time..
