I have been suffering from pain in the lower right abdominal area for almost 2 years now. At first, I was diagnosed with kidney stones and a UTI. I was sent to a urologist who then did an exploratory surgery. He thought that he found a UPJ obstruction and told me to not hold it when I had to pee because it would cause more pain, not to drink alcohol, and to avoid caffeine. After the problem continued, I had some tests done (nuclear renal scan) to see how my kidney was functioning and he ruled out the UPJ obstruction. He reffered me to an OB/GYN. The OB/GYN, who had been my mom's OB for years diagnose dme with ovarian cysts and scheduled surgery. I was hospitalized several times for the pain. I had the cysts removed 9 months ago and the pain got better for awhile. It is now beginning to get worse again, especially around the time I ovulate and during sex. He had told me that after the surgery, it was unlikely the cysts would return. I recently had a pelvic ultrasound that showed no cysts, but they never showed before due to that fact that they were small just had a lot of them.
My mom had cervical cancer, but I had the Gardasil vaccination.
I have been on birth control for 5 years to help reduce the risk of the cysts.
I'm not sure if the pain is from cysts or from something else?
I have also always had blood in my urine when I've had urinalysises and the cause has never been found. It is sometimes visible in my urine also.
Please let me know what you think this could be.
