Hi,
I had my mirena removed on the 14th of January 2011 and I still haven't had a period. It has been just over 2 months. I am 33 and have been using mirena's for 12 years - 3 mirena's in total and each time i got one removed it was replaced with the next - during this 12 years, i did not have any periods. I decided to have it remove as I have been suffering from serious depression, constant exhaustion, body aches and pains, weight gain, hormonal hairs and other symptoms and test after test told me that there was nothing wrong with me ...... Ok, then why was I feeling this way. Truth be told, i haven't noticed feeling any better since having it removed
-(i've been off of the anti-depressants since the same day I had the mirena removed - as none of them helped me feel any better and i thought it might be worth a try to go completely med-free.)
Anyway, my question to you is how long after having your mirena removed did you get your period?
Before you say that I might be pregnant, that is impossible unless it is an immaculate conception.
Thanks a bunch,
Bonnie
It can take a year or more for your body to adjust and have normal periods after stopping any long term birth control. I only had my mirena a few weeks so it didn't take long for my body to readjust but when I stopped yasmin after taking it for about 5 years straight it took a bit over a year before my periods were regular and sometimes I went 4 months without. All hormonal forms of birth control have that same side effect.
