You probably have some scar tissue. Did they do an episiotomy that tore?

hi all
i was blessed by a baby boy on 23rd september,2010.
delivery was vaccum delivery, and i had stiches, that too till the anus,
and they inserted a urine bag too,
it took several weeks to heal the wound , i could not sit for many days
and to add the difficulty, i had a flat nipple to feed my baby
so all the time sitting , and painful stiches.
now when i am touching the sitch area i can feel some hard part.
what is this?,
will a stich area would always remain as a hard area compared to other parts ?
can i deliver another child normaly?
please comment.
love
ana

Like WC said, only your doctor could accurately assess your situation. I believe it would get better as time passes though. I had an appendectomy when I was 15 years old and the stitch used to feel hard. Now that feeling is all gone.
As for your quick healing, drink more fruit juices (fresh is preferred) and/or fruit (i.e. pineapple) rich in vitamin C to boost your tissue repair.

It seemed like the stitches from my son's birth took so long to heal - at least 8 weeks, though I could sit comfortably after just a few weeks. I didn't have an episiotomy, and my tears weren't very serious, so it makes sense that a more serious tear would take much longer to heal.
Scar tissue in general will soften over time. I hope your doctor can give you good news about future births.
I find the easiest breastfeeding position for me is side-lying. Though my hips still hurt if I lay on my side for too long, it's very comfortable to lay down and feed my son, and it helps him get to sleep better than us sitting up. Nursing while lying down and bed-sharing really saved me when I found out how much easier they made things!
