I recently went to my local GU Medicine clinic just for a general check up of swabs and bloods. I had some symptoms such as slight smell and thick creamy discharge, slightly bloodstained.
Whilst having these swabs, the consultant noticed that my cervix tore and bled on contact.
I was told that I had Bacterial Vaginosis and Cervicitis, there on the day. I was given 2 sets of antibiotics, one of which was Erythromycin. I couldn't continue with these antibiotics as they put me in hospital for the night on morphine. I was given amoxicillin as a replacement. The symptoms cleared up in less than a week, and have not returned.
I went to the GU medicine clinic a week later, for my swab and blood results, they all came back NEGATIVE.
I went a couple weeks later for a jab, but the doctor wasn't happy letting me leave without checking up on my cervix. She told me it was still inflamed and easily torn etc so she gave me 4 Azithromycin (I believe it was this, I may be incorrect.) as a single dose. I have read that these are mainly for Chlamydia Cervicitis (in these situations) This confuses me, as my swabs came back negative?
I have to go back in 2 weeks, and if my cervix is still the same I am being sent for a colposcopy which worries me greatly!!
Has anyone had the same? Know any information that might be helpful? Suggestions? I am worried and confused.
