Hi everyone, I'm new to posting but not as new to reading the forums. I really need advice or what would be even better would be answers!! I'll start my story from the beginning.
I started my depo provera shots when I was 15 a little over 6 years ago. They worked great. I experienced weight LOSS, INCREASED sex drive, no periods, etc. I had "extreme periods" before the depo shot that were debilitating. I basically got all the benefits of the shot without the "cons". However I think I might be paying for it all tenfold now.
I have been experiencing random cramping/stabbing on my uterine area since December (that I took note of). I've had two back surgeries and live with constant pain from that so this pain could have been going on for longer. They began to get worse and more frequent. Then I started experiencing pain with orgasms from intercourse and other sexual acts between my fiancé and I. The pain has been so bad sometimes I've literally orgasms then LEPT out of bed, ran to the bathroom, and thrown up.
I thought maybe we were just having sex too rough so we toned it down a bit for a while and the pain wasn't as bad. Then back in March of this year I was hospitalized for what they thought was the flu and I was having abdominal pain and they ended up attributing all my symptoms to ovarian cysts.
Then, three weeks ago, I had the WORST pain thus far from masturbating and orgasming. There was bloody/brown discharge and I was throwing up. I called a friend who is a nurse and she told me to go to the ER. I went to the ER and I must have looked horrible because it was busy but I was seen right away. They did my 1 millionth pregnancy test that came back negative and did bloodwork as well. The OBGYN on call wanted to do a pelvic exam but I was curled into a ball and couldn't move. They gave me tramadol which didn't touch me then morphine which still had no effect then they ended up giving me diladin. She began the pelvic exam and when she touched my right ovary I screamed in pain and she thought she felt a cyst and I was IMMEDIATELY back in my ball.
They did an ultrasound and didn't find any cysts or lesions or scarring of any nature. She told me to see a specialized OBGYN in endometriosis. So I went and met my doctor three days later and she recommended a laparoscopy to look for and remove endometriosis.
Fast forward a week of crying/hysteria, I go in to have my laparoscopy and they didn't find any endometriosis anywhere. I'm glad they didn't because I do want to have kids in the next few years when I finish uni but it's bad in a sense because they don't know what's wrong with me. My doctor thinks it might be my depo shots causing it but I've been on them for years no problem. And there's no other birth control I can take because I have migraines with aura so the pill would put me at a huge increased risk of stroke.
If anyone is in the same situation and has been diagnosed PLEASE respond with what was causing your pain. My wedding is at the end of July and I'm going nuts trying to plan it and move into a new apartment AND be in pain for an unknown reason!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read,
