Hi I have a question for everyone and I am hoping someone can help me out. I have bad body odor in my groin area. I have had this problem for years beginning when I was about 20. It is definitely coming from the groin not vagina. I seem to experience it when I am hot or even if I am nervous. I hate it so much!! I have tried feminine washes and they do not help. I use the feminine deodorent spray and it helps a little bit. I mainly want to know what causes this and if it is something I just have to live with. Is it common? It is so embarressing! Please help!

Could you clarify, I'm not sure what you mean by "groin" but not "vagina"? So you think the odor is definitely not coming from the vagina? Do you have any odd or smelly discharge? If you stick your finger in your vagina and give it a sniff, does it smell normal?

Is it just perspiration of the outer lips/inner thigh area that is smelly?

If you have long hair get a beard trimmer and trim it. Sadly I come from a hairy family and can grow very long hair down there. Partially due to how thick my hair is it doesn't break easy so it can get longer. The hair holds in the moisture coming from my vagina and allows things to grow that cause smell. Trim the hair down to only an inch or so and no more smell. I have a very sensitive nose so occasionally if I haven't trimmed the hair in awhile and especially if I also had sex recently I will be overcome by my own scent and make for the bathroom as soon as possible to thoroughly trim down and clean what hair is left. You can get moist wipes specifically made for that area which are useful to use after going to the bathroom to remove urine and extra moisture better than toilet paper will as well as having things in them that help keep the smell down. This does not apply to problems coming from the vagina itself since that area should not have a smell problem or need cleaned with anything but the skin and hair outside of it can collect sweat, vaginal secretions, and urine and create smell similar to sweating armpits and other areas of the body where moisture collects.

Thanks for the responses. The odor is not from my vagina for sure, it is the inner thigh area/ outer lips. I am assuming it is from perspiration but why does it have to smell bad? I will try to keep the hair trimmed as suggested and see if that helps. Thanks!
