Hi my name is Jill I had a complete hysterectomy August 3 2009 I'm having a real hard time loosing weight the middle part of my stomach is really big. I went back to my gi doctor because I started to have gas and bloating all over again I thought it might be my gallbladder that where most of my pain is around in the area where my gallbladder is I had a upper gi done he said it not my gallbladder it not my appendix or kidney stones or gallstones or ulcers. some form of muscle spasm. I ask him if I could get some medicine to help with my muscle spasm he would not give me any thing sent me on my way and told me that there nothing more that he can do for me and if I was still having problem so back and see my internal medicine doctor to get answers this is the second gi doctor that I'm been to the first gi doctor that I went to said it has to do with my periods so I had a complete hysterectomy hoping that would solve my issue I'm still having the same problem that I was having before I had my hysterectomy. I really could use all of the help and advice I could get. Thanks Allot Jill![]()

Have you looked in to diet intolerances? Problems digesting things will show up right across the top of the ribs when the food hits that area of the small intestine and may even cause pain. Intolerances build as you get older because the small intestine steadily produces less and less of the enzyme needed to digest that item so exposure to it causes increasing inflammation and more of the item is available for bacteria to eat. The inflammation can pull water in to the intestines and the bacteria can produce gas as they digest the extra sugar or whatever in place of your body's enzymes. Also they have recently identified gluten sensitive people who do not test positive on a normal gluten test but who's symptoms are resolved by a diet lower in gluten so no GI doctor could diagnose it except those who keep up on knowledge and know to suggest a gluten free diet to see how symptoms improve. They have debated whether everyone is gluten sensitive to varying degrees. Try taking lactase pills with dairy, cutting fructose out of your diet (very hard but read the labels for fructose or high fructose corn syrup and don't eat fruit high in fructose and lower in dextrose like apples, apple juice, apple desserts..), or using gluten free products and see if the bloating and other symptoms go away.
GI problems can also mimic reproductive problems and it can be hard to separate the 2 so it may be that your uterus had nothing to do with it all along. I got sent to both a GI specialist and a gynocologist by my general doctor and I'm now waiting to see a better GI specialist but he takes cases from all around the world so it's a 4-6month wait.
Thank you for the info I had two upper endoscopy one capsule endoscopy a colonoscopy ct scan two upper gi the only thin that I found out is that I have acid reflex problem the lining of my esophagus is to small and gastritis he also check to see if I have celiac disease when I my second upper endoscopy it came back negative and I don have IBS or lactose because if I did I would have all of the sign and symptom all of the time. The one of the thing that I have to take very day is a probiotic other wise I won't have a bowel movement. Once again thanks Jill
None of those tests show anything about food intolerances. Just looking visually at the bowel tells you very little when it comes to food intolerances unless the inflammation is very bad which there may not be any inflammation. A ct scan or barium test would not show you it at all. Food intolerances can be a bit random. You might eat 5 things of dairy with no symptoms and then all of a sudden you are in pain because the last one is in a form you can't tolerate or it's passed the threshhold of what your body can digest. I eat cheese and other things with no problem and then I go eat instant pudding and die. I eat things with fructose all the time because it's impossible to avoid but if I eat hot dog buns which don't even list the fructose they just break down to create it I get completely bloated to the point I can't expand my lungs. Same with apples. I'll eat all sorts of fruit and be fine, then I ate an apple and went to the ER. I don't have IBS symptoms. I actually have chronic severe constipation. I've never had a test that showed my food intolerances. I just found them out by trial and error. To test for them they can give you a certain amount of things like lactose and then test your breathe for the presence of it and when it spikes. To test for gluten sensitivity all you can do is try a diet without it and see if symptoms go away.
It's so simple to check for sensitivies by just avoiding those foods for a month or 2 why not do it when you've been suffering for so long with no sign of improvement?
