Thread: HELP! Major Issues!!

Alright, Ladies.

I'm freaking out.

I'm 22 and I haven't had a "normal" menstrual schedule in at least 3 years. Sometimes it would come every month but other times it'd be 3 months between periods. This really didn't bother me that much. I knew that not everyone has "normal" cycles so I figured I just wouldn't either.

But then things started getting really out of whack in the last 9-12 months. When I'd be on my period it would be extremely heavy. I'd go through ULTRA (the largest ones i can find!) tampons in an hour, sometimes less. I also started noticing large blood clots as well. Sometimes 4 to 5 inches or so long. My periods would last sometimes up to two weeks and I basically useless during those times because I bleed so much and I'm exhausted/cramping.

Then this summer things started turning really weird. My period has never really stopped. In early June I had my period, then it stopped for a day. I went swimming, as I frequently do in the summer, and when I got out I went upstairs to change and use the restroom and two huge blood clots came out. and then it was as if I started my period all over again. This summer I've had to wear a tampon 80% of the time because I'm just bleeding randomly. Most of the time it's not very much and I still have my period week where its my "normal" bleeding , but after it's over I just bleed a little each day until the next period. I've also noticed It seems like any time I go swimming I'll bleed really heavy for a few hours after I get out.

I've now been on my period for 3 weeks. Some days I'll have a "regular flow", then I'll spot for a few days then out of no where, I'll bleed a TON. The last two days were just spotting until tonight when all of a sudden i felt it coming on...I barely got to the bathroom before blood got everywhere! I also noticed more huge clots in the toilet.

I really don't know what to do and I'm so scared! I made an appointment with a gynecologist but they couldn't get me in until mid October....I'm scared something major is wrong.

Advice??? What do I do?? Wait until October??

You definitely need to see your GYN. This could be serious, I agree with rose, make sure you make your Dr. understand this is important and has been happening for some time. You are the advocate for YOUR HEALTH. Be sure your Dr hears you, if not, go to someone who will!
