I have suffered with chronic bv for a few years now. I have a foul odor, but it is not fishy. I don't know how to describe it, but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem with bv as well.

Do u know u suffer from it due to actual testing? If it itches occasionally it may be cronic thrush which I had when I was taking loette (mini pill) but it was after taking it for a few years. As soon as I stopped it was gone. I'm pretty sure BV and gardenella can be treated with anti-biotics. I got it earlier this year as some cotton from a tampon stayed inside me and it grew around that. Gross I know. It smelled pretty fishy. U could just have a ph balance issue called "hostile vaginal mucus" which is caused by bad diet and not enough water. It can be almost as uncomfortable as thrush esp when u have sex as it causes too much friction. It just presents as very thick white discharge but not nessesarily in massive amounts like some cases of thrush. U need to go to the doctor and have a pap smear and a few scrapes will b sent off and they'll tell u exactly what is growing in there. Blood tests are handy too incase it's an sti.

Sorry to go off subject a bit. If your sure it's BV it can be treated very easily with anti-biotite but u need to look at what could be making it reoccur like perhaps your methods of contraception or the type of tampons u use. Have u been to the dr? I know how it feels to have somthing like that chronically I'm sure my thrush era was riddled with at least ten cases of BV or gardenella

Yes the swabs all show clue cells which is BV I guess. I had three rounds of metronidazole which did take the odor away, but it cames back a few days after finishing the medicine. This all started when I took an strong antibotic for a bad sinus infection and was on it for three weeks. I think it caused an imbalance and I just can't seem to get over it.
