Default From heavy period to almost nothing... worried

I usually have very heavy periods that last 5-7 days. My last two periods were very short and only a few drops of blood and maybe over 3 days. I'm 32, not sexually active, never had kids. It seems a bit early for me to going into menopause... so... I'm not sure what to think. I'm a teacher and it's been during summer vacation I had the two extremely light, almost non-existent periods. I'm not on any medication, haven't really changed anything in my life physically.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is this something I need to just wait it through or something I need to see a doctor about?

How long has it been since your last gyn visit?

Hormones changes over time, our bodies change, and therefore our cycles can change. Are you experiencing any other symptoms? My cycles change. I used to have a moderately heavy period for 5-7 days. I was then on the pill for 10 years, and ever since I went off of it, my periods are 3-4 days tops, only heavy on day 1.

I have a rule of thumb, if I'm worried, I call and talk with my doctor or his nurse. It helps relieve the worry.

    "Be what you're looking for."

"The next time you're thinking of kicking someone when they're down, offer them your hand and help them back up instead."

Actually.. I've not gone to an ob-gyn... I know I should have, but I haven't. I have never been on the pill.

Other symptoms - not really. I am not getting the usual cramping I get during my period.

Probably a good time to get yourself a pap smear and a doctor with whom you can sit down and talk with about concerns you have. I'm not telling you to live in the doctors office. But it's a very important connection to make and becomes even more important with each year you let go by.

Most likely you're totally fine, but he/she can check your hormones with a simple blood test. Get yourself a doctor lady.
