For the past few years i have had an odor down there. It's always been really disgusting but i was too afraid to tell my mom. As I grew up I kept reassuring myself that it would be OK but it wasn't constant and it usually got stronger with discharge near my period and sometimes it was non-existant so i tried to ignore it mostly because i was embarassed.

I recently got really fed up and started losing nights of sleep over it so i went to the obgyn and had her give me a pap smear and told her about the problem she said it could be something normal and the pap smear came back regular.

However, the main concern was that she reccommended an ultrasound because i had got an ultrasound before and they had found a very small what they thought was a cyst in my uterus. The doctor read over the report and said the way the worded it was confusing and it could potentially be a fallopian tube the cyst was located in or near. The report also said something about fluid also.

So recently I was looking up causes for the odor and it said something about pelvic inflammatory disease which unfortunately, think i have now and am freaking out. I DEFINITELY want to have children when i grow up and the cyst or me potentially having PID stops this, i will be devastated.

I scheduled an ultrasound but am very worried about this PID.

Would this show up on a pap smear?

I'm 18, does age have any factor in this?

I've never had sex before and they say the leading causes are STDs which i know i definitely do not have...how often do people get it from other things?

If its not PID any idea on what it might be? could it be the cyst?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. And don't worry, I will also be consulting with my doctor but my appt. is not for awhile.

I'm realize i am horribly irresponsible and a coward but now that i have finally stop being such an idiot i am really worried!
