Miffed,

Another thing -- talk to the doctor about atopobium vaginae. I wrote about it in one of my posts, so check those facts out. Take in this article. http://www.biomedcentral.com/content...1-2334-4-5.pdf. I really believe this atopobium vaginae is at the bottom of almost all cases of chronic BV.

I, too, have had chronic BV for the past several years. I have taken Flagyl several times and I have also tried acidophyllis, which didn't work at all. The Flagyl usually makes it go away, but then it comes right back. I can't remember going more than a month or two without it recurring in the past 6 years or so. Someone told me a long time ago that the bacteria stay in your underwear, and that you should boil the underwear. I thought it was ridiculous and didn't do it. But, I'm so sick of it now that I'm willing to throw away all of my underwear and buy more while I'm taking this current dose. I can cut out bubble baths, Summer's Eve feminine wash, and whatever else. But, is this really going to go away? I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one dealing with this--sorry, guys.

If your using products like that, no wonder you are having trouble. Those 'feminine products' are junk. Bubble baths will also lead to problems. Stay clear of any of those products. Cleaning with warm water and your fingers is all you need. No soap. No cleanses. No perfumed products. Stay away from perfumed tampons or pads, also Always brand products are notorious for causing reactions. You should also use a die and perfume free laundry detergent. We are killing ourselves with all of these extra chemicals.

Try the probiotic strains that contain Lactobacillus Reuteri and Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, like Fem Dophilus and Nature's Way Primodophilus Reuteri.

Read my very long post about the treatments and reasons why certain ones work and certain ones don't. Nothing will change if you continue to use the same treatment.

I am down to one Primodophilus Reuteri a day, and I have been BV free for 2 months!

Hello all, my next appointment with a gyno is 5th june...

i am planning on using a yoghurt inter-vaginally with Lactobacillus Acidophilus in it, it also has Strep Salivarius ssp. Thermophius and Bifidobacterium Longum - i am just wondering if this is a good idea and also, excuse my naive attitude, but do i just rub it in or should i use a tampon covered with the yoghurt?

Ive also ordered Natures Way Primodophilus Reuteri... lets hope there will be some relief from this....

I usually notice it right after my cycle goes off or I notice a fishy odor after sex. I was wondering it bv is just a ph imbalance it their anything I can do to balance my ph? If any of you ladies have advice it would be very helpful
Yeh, I took that antibiotic too. It gave me many icky side effects. I was supposed to take 2 a day for 7 days(14 pills). I managed to get 6 pills down before I had to stop taking it. It did cure the infection. I have only had it that one time. I was told and have read that you are reinfecting yourselves from your partner, that he needs to take something as he can hold that bacteria somewhere in his penis and he never has any symptoms. So, ask your doc about your partner taking something at the same time you do.

Yup, this is true...he usually has to go on a course of antibiotics. I always, always use condoms now and that has definitely helped.

I can only relate to this:-

"From puperty til can't remember actually but never again,

Point being: Swelling, itching, discharge, smell, i recall it all.

My cure?

1. Hot baths with salt lots.
2. Followed by natural yoghurt yuk, all over your nickers.

Followed by gone.

I am no way anti medication, i had a huge fall in 1999, 20% disability, could not move my body, Panadene Fort yep, sleeping tablets of course.

It's just that this was recommended to me, and it worked.

Severe, sure antibotics may be necessary, but prevention i have not read anything here.

1. Condoms/lubs, some contain things we just can't stomach our bodies are sensitve.

2. Birth control pills, change it... if your on one and feeling this pain that we don't need, seek advice. I changed mine, and whilst i listed (2) this could be a third.

3. Nylon.... A killer in getting you to swell and itch and discharge.

4. Tight nickers or jeans around the croutch, it can't breathe.

Lastly Miffed23, glad he went on antibotics and is supporting this femanine thing we have to put up with hey?

Experience only, so factual but not certainly the answer to all, hopefully some...

I used one of those applicators left over from some of the prescription junk I got. I have also used syringes (with no needle of course). I just put it in at night before bed so it would mostly stay put.

I was on antibiotics too, it finished two days ago, I was also on the cream too. I suspect it was making me dizzy. but I still took it. I was taking it twice a day. after I stop, everything came back. the irritations, and now a slight yellow discharge. but nothing seems to be helping it's so annoying. I sleep with no panties to get some air.. I don't know what to do anymore. I have to call my doc for another appointment. That's second antibiotics he priscribed me...my gyn seems like he don't know what I have or how to cure it...
it's frustrating.
