It seems to come back after I've gotten off my cycle, and Ive also tried rephresh, and acidophillus, nothing seems to work!! I have a boyfriend of two years, and we have no sex life. There has to be something out there for us!! If there is any more information, please let me know

Question Bv Wont Leave

I am a 24 year old african american female about 5'8 180 pounds. I have struggled with BV for years at one point in my life BV would go away and return after my menstrual cycles, but now BV is here to stay. I have visited about 12 different doctors in the past 7 years and I am getting the same response. It has even come to the point where I will look up information online and bring it on my doctor appointments with me. I have been prescribed creams, gels, and the famous famous METRINIDOZOLE....Despite the many, many doctors efforts BV is here with me even as I type in this forum! There must be something I haven't been told. I am a healthy young adult with no children. I cannot find an answer to my problem but it is a very big problem. My BV odor is very light not a strong smell until right before my cycle comes on.And ladies this smell can light up my small office. I am embarrassed to be around co-workers and family. This tops it off I am not very sexually active because I have had this problem for so long. My sex life has deceased. I am embarrassed please help.I will take any advice

I found something that worked. I took a combination of Clyndeese (one time vaginal treatment)and a dose of silver. I continued to take the silver for 2 days on day three I did a slight medicated douche(although not reccommended)to ride the resideu of clyndeese. The next morning- still normal. 2 days later - still normal.

I got the idea from a friend.
I am still taking the silver every other day... and I am sooooooooooo happy.

I also hear that some women are allergic to sperm- it throws off PH balence.

I am a 26 year old virgin so luckly I dont have that problem.... but maybe not for long if this BV stay away.

I have been suffering from bacterial vaginosis for about a year. I kept taking cleosin and it would be back within a week. Just recently I found this website: Bacterial Vaginosis Questions and Answers- www.drchristian.com. This is the first website I found that didn't just spout the same information as every other site. Following his advice on nutritional supplements, I put myself on the following regimen:

- women's multivitamin + flax oil pill with one meal
- 50mg zinc + 28 mg iron + B and C complex + flax oil pill with another meal (not with dairy - dairy impedes iron absorption)
- 100mg acidophilus + bifidus between meals
- plenty of water to process all of this

I took this for a week, didn't notice any change, got discouraged and just went back to the multivitamin once a day. About two weeks later, THE BV WAS GONE!!! I am now back on the regimen and will stay on it forever. It has been about a month and I AM BV FREE! It feels fantastic so I thought I would come on a message board to share the wealth. I hope it works for the rest of you. Good luck!

Hi

I'm suffering from BV and have done chronically for the last 6 mths. I have try to leave things and let nature takes it's course-yogurts etc and also seeked medical help. 11 courses of antibiotics and some creams later I'm still no better off

I paid privately to see specialist in New Zealand whilst there for a few mths. Nothing improved. Since I've returned home, endless trips to the doctors has resulted in me being told there's nothin more they can do for me. Their last resort was referal to hospital but as I've already seen a specialist you can imagine I'm not too optimistic.

I don't do anythin i shudn't includin washin, underwear etc but this is now becomin a real hinder in my life. It's effecting work (leaking through my clothes) sex life (painful) and my confidence.

I really am DESPERATE for anyone who thinks they could help.

Thanks in advance

Nicola

You need to avoid using any kind of vaginal cleansers or chemicals (even if you get that fishy odor). Using anything such as douche will only make it worse. Avoid taking bubble baths or getting any soap in the vagina. Do not use cleansing wipes or vaginal deoderants either.

Wear breathable panties. Preferably cotton. Try to wear loose clothing. The key is to help reduce excess moisture.

Make sure that you and your partner always wash your hands and private areas before and after any sort of sexual contact. This will help prevent spreading the bacteria which causes BV. Make sure that if you use any sort of toys, that you always clean them with soap and rinse them thoroughly.

The medications that are given for BV are indeed cures. They completely cure you of BV. The problem is that you are reinfecting yourself somehow. It's usually due to one of the situations I described above. I know that when I have had it, I was given one pill and that was all I had to take for that occurance.

I have had dysplasia type 1 twice. Ever since then I have been having problems with my vagina even after no traces of dysplasia have been found. I have been with the same sexual partner for 4 years now and because of my vagina problems I we have had sex maybe 100 times (if that much) in 4 years! I recently had a bacterial infection and was given the metro-gel (cream)...I followed all the steps my doctor gave me. And I was only to use it for 5 days; even though there was cream left in the tube i only had five applicators... So I wanted to make sure that the medicine worked before I had intercourse. I waited a WEEK after the last usage... My vagina was tight during intercourse and it was kind of painful.. I attributed that to not having sex for more than month... So the irritation continued and now my vagina is a little irritated and itchy. I just apply cortisone cream to the outside to stop the itching there. But it itches on the inside and I am experiencing a CLEAR ODORLESS discharge. I have been having vagina problems since I was 19 I am now 23...so my sex life has been sucky pretty much since I started having it. I must say I hate it!! I wish I could just have a normal healthy sex life like everyone else...
