DetectiveSarah - all the whey powder I find is at the nutrition store ,but they are all flavored - vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, even cookiesn' cream. I looked for "cheese whey" as you had stated previously. Could you tell me the brand that you buy? I think my best bet is to get the kind you get and just order it online if they don't supply it here in the States.

Default 100%

It's just 100% whey, the brand I have is Lotus. Good luck finding this or similar, Optimum is a similar brand I think.

Default more whey

***look at the nutritional chart on the whey packet and it should have 74% or more percent sugars, lactose.
Because lactose is the bit that works.

I'm in Canada and couln't find anything besides the Whey protein powders that people take and those have almost all the lactose removed. What I did find finally one night at the drugstore is called "Molkosan concentrated lactofermented whey" saying it contains concentrated (L+)-Lactic Acid. It's in liquid form and all I did was use one of those drugstore droppers and squirt some in 2 nights in a row and it's been gone ever since. I've had sex with my boyfriend since and no problems (would always get BV again the morning after sex). I finally ordered some whey after that's only 70% lactose but it was all I could find so i'm going to try that too, but if you are like me and can't find whey see if you can find the Molkosan, it worked!!

Thanks SOOOOO much detective Sarah because without you I never would have thought to try any of these things and it feels so great to be so far free of this!

Talking i'm no expert

but i'm so happy that the whey powder, or the lactose milk sugar or the other one worked for you guys.

I reckon it's the lactose milk sugar that works the best - it's the nutrients for the good vagina bacteria that keep it all ph balanced up there...

I just can't get that in Australia, so i use the whey pwder, cos it's the next best thing and it still works at 70% lactose.

My friend got BV last week and she told me, and the dr gave her antibiotics and on monday i dropped around some whey powder, so she was being innovative and she made a thick thick paste of it and coated a tampon with it and put it up and she rang me the nxt day and said it fixed the BV and it worked faster than the doctor's antibiotics.

i would be using pure lactose if i could.
but i'm still BV free, i'm still using the whey.

At least it's one thing in my life that's working out ok at the moment. My relationship is great, plus my vagina doens't stink .

ok- so try the cheap whey or lactose home remedy first and if that doesn't work, then invest in the others - acigel etc. I know Lady Balance will also work cos it is pills of lactose that you insert.

good luck ladies. you are worth it.

I have had BV for 4 years now. I am only 24 and I have not had sex in almost 5 years, so I know it is not sexually transmitted. I have tried everything there is to try...yogurt, probiotics, tea tree oil, echinacea, goldenseal, bee propolis, peroxide/water douche, apple cidar vinegar, metro gel x2, flagyl x1, clindamycin cream x3, tindamax x2, enzara, femanol, the whole BV protocol from rockwellnutrition.com, and the list goes on....I have tried Lady Balance and it made my BV worse. The only thing that has helped at all is boric acid suppositories. It doesn't cure it but it controls the odor. I have spent tons of money on trying to get rid of this and have seen 5 different docs. I was reading about some of you using whey powder. I have not tried that so I think I am going to. I wanted to try activ balance but it is only in the UK and I am in the United States. Has anyone else tried the whey powder and had success? Thanks for any information.
