I am too dealing with this for going on 3 years now I have tried everything. I am also trying to get pregnant but cannot. I am assuming it is because the sperm cannot live in that environment. It is depressing . I don't know what else to do someone please come up with a remedy. Has anyone else gotten pregnant while dealing with this chronic BV or am I doomed forever.

    Default remedy

My theory is that your body and immune system is not functioning correctly to be experiencing this disorder chronically. This is my first bout with this, and hopefully it will be the last, I just stumpled on this forum. I do have an appointment with a homeopathic doctor in March to test the ph levels in my body because I want to make sure this doesn't come back. I am currently taking acidopholus, a good multi vitamin, flax oil, I was on colloidal silver but you should only take that for a LIMITED time, and I am going today to see about some probiotics.

    Default Fed up with BV!!!

I have suffered from BV for about 8 years know, but it just began to become "chronic". I have tried Clindeese, and I felt that it was a miracle drug until my problem occurred 3weeks later! Well I am a clean freak when it comes to my vagina. I have now come to realize that Sperm is causing my recurring issue. I have a new partner and I am now getting BV alomost after every session of intercourse. If anyone knows what can be done about this please HHEELLPP!! I read that Sperm changes the pH in the vagina..

    Smile medical doctors

It amazes me that after what I read that the medical doctors never address the underlying cause of this condition. After reading about it, I have become more familiar that the nature of it- disruption in the bowel flora. Shortly after my bout with bv, my doc prescribed an anti-fungal med for what she thought (over the phone no less) was a yeast infection. My symptoms reoccured

I read that yeast infections will continue to reoccur if your bowel flora is off and/or you have a suppressed immune system.
I took it upon myself to go the naturopathic route, and bought a yeast/fungi detox and probiotics and am feeling great now. I do think I had a yeast infection after the two tubes of clindesse I took for the bv.

I think it is important to be on probiotics if you have either condition atleast to establish some health back in your flora, I think I will be on them for awhile.

    Default In the same boat

I have been having the odor prob since I had my last child ( now 11 mos old) after every period I have an odor. I just use the metro gel and it clears up. I also use the nuva ring (4 mos now) and I read on another thread that I may be causing the BV by adjusting my ring without washing my hands first. I always wash my hands after!!!! The metro gel always works but it seems like your body would grow dependant on the meds, ya know!?! Why is this so comon?

    Thumbs up info

I got this from another site thought it may interest folks here, the probiotics do seem to work:

Here is what I suggest to you. Please go to a health food store and buy a good quality probiotic in capsule form as well as unsweetened natural yogurt. Take some yogurt and break open two capsules and mix together. Insert this deeply into your vagina at nighttime (and daytime to if you can stand the mess!). If you can also find come cotton pantyliners to wear this will also help. Do this faithfully for at the least two weeks. Meanwhile, take the probiotic orally at least 2-3 times per day. This will all help to rebalance your flora. DON'T DOUCHE AS THIS MAKES THINGS WORSE.

Also, throw out your underwear and buy only 100% cotton panties. Don't wear panty hose or anything that constricts that area (if you have to wear hose just cut out the crotch).

Lastly check your diet. Cut out all dairy, SUGAR, and bread products. This should keep the yeast overgrowth in check. Unfortunately, antibiotics only temporarily help this condition, and actually make things worse by stripping your vagina of any beneficial flora.

Please try this treatment - it's messy, but it works wonders!
    Hope this helps,
    Doctor Of Oriental Medicine

    Red face Progress

I was diagnosed with BV in November and couldn't shake it at all.

However....I went to the Health clinic today and everything seems to be normal! ^______________________________________^

I don't know what did it...I just...tried to do EVERYTHING. I bought the cotton underwear, used dye/color/scent-free detergent and cut out fabric softener and dryer sheets, I began exercising six times a week, started eating REALLY healthily, took multi-vitamins and acidophilus, went off birth control, got counseling about the problem because I was getting close to suicidal and crazy depressed about it, tried douching (DON'T DO IT...BAAAADDD)...

I really hope that it doesn't come back...but I'm so much healthier now as a result. o.o It's nice to feel joyous and in balance again.

I'm sending good thoughts to all you women out there dealing with this right now.

I take two supplements a day, its all natural for more info go to Viable Herbal Solutions, Inc. - Home Page - Health Support Products. They already have drugged use up enough why not try something natural.

I have been Bv free for about 3 months.
I was also interested in trying this herbal supplement that you have found but I'm unable to locate it on this site? Is this still working for you? I haven't seen any responses from you since your last post...

    Default bacterial vaginosis...penicillin

Is this a quick cure for this? Or does this have to be taken on a daily basis? Or does it even help at all?
