Well, my BV is back. But it's weird how it came back though. I had been in the hospital the past 2 weeks from a Pulmonary Embolism I got as a result of taking birth control. I had a CT scan done on Sunday night and got the smell and discharge on Tuesday morning. I really think the CT scan dye caused my BV to come back. I 1st got BV in June and never had it again. Then, after the CT scan and blood thinners the BV came roaring back. I really think the dye did something to the ph in my body which caused the recurrance, b/c the dye made me feel hot all over and like I was peeing on myself. Am I crazy here or all these changes in my body couldn't have contributed to the return of my BV? Ugh, I'm hating this, blood clots in my lungs and fricken BV!!!!

I posted that my bv came back after my period and I have tried the tea tree oil the vinegar douche, antibiotics nothing keeps it away. I have been taking Fem D for the past few weeks and at wits end for the past week I have been douching before bed with plain yogurt not to mention eating it once daily. It has basically cleared it, but I' afraid to stop. To me it seems to be the only logical choice because it kills the bad bacteria and promotes the good. I'm going to continue for a few more days, I will keep you all posted if it stays away once and for all!!!

While I haven't read through the 57 pages of posts I just can't help to think that this IS caused by something that shouldn't be there. I don't see why a doctor (or doctors) can't determine what the root of the problem is. I've never been one who favors taking any kind of medication but in extreme circumstances like this I'd think there has to be something that can wipe it out permanently.

I do have the same thing, but I dont know whether this is BV or yeast infection, my discharge is yellowish to greenish but mostly yellow, odorless, but I can feel it comes out from my vagina sometimes like youre menstruating, and the look is like cottage cheese.. a bit sticky... doesnt itch so much but sometimes it feels itchy but after I wash with water it goes away.
I never had unprotected sex too, so I have been wondering why Im getting this discharge? ... weird... and after serveral intercourse with my boyfriend, when he enters, n do it, i feel like i wanna pee so much, and i thought it was normal, but i dont think so anymore since after that, whenever I am almost finish urinating, I feel like i want to pee more but I cant, and it makes me feel so uncomfortable.. sometimes a bit pain... and my urine now smells like antibiotics too (altho I am not taking any antibiotics) ... then I started to take cranberry pills n drink lots of water.. and hoping all these problems will go away.. So, am I diagnosed having a BV and UTI? advise please. how to cure.. Does anyone have the same problem with me?

As I read I feel better and better, yet worse and worse. I feel beter that I am not alone in this however worse that this many women are dealing with this. I am 19 and have been treated for BV 7 times since early March. My fiance is livid with me because I won't take the flagyl or go to the gyno anymore I am tired of hearing the same thing and taking the same Flagyl that makes me so sick. I am tired of being poked and proded and everyone telling me, it might be endometriosis, but we cant find out anything until after the infection is gone. However it doesn't seem like the infection ever goes away. I am young getting married in three months and have problems with out intimate relationship already because I get in so much pain and have so many problems that I begin to just avoid sex altogether. It is actually stressing me, making me sick, I think I have lost my ability to ovulate because my hormone levels are so low. And the worst part is no one can tell me what is wrong or how to fix it!
I am sincerely sorry for the rest of you that deal with this same thing. I know how you feel, and I will pray for all of us. |

I had been suffering from BV for about 5 months now, the doctor kept treating me with flagil and metrogel and nothing worked. I googled it and some one told me to try the probiotic Femanol they sell it online, well I started on it about 2 weeks ago and it is a miracle there is no smell and no discharged. Femanol is a bit expensive about $89 for a 60 pill bottle but believe me when I say is worth every penny. Now I heard you can do this regimen for 3 months and then switch to another probiotic call Fem-Dophilus is way cheaper and it does the trick. Except if you start on it without taking the Femanol first it may not get rid of the odor. I wish all of you good luck.

I had the same problem with BV. I would go to the doctor and get some medicine for it, and it would help for awhile but after a few months it would return! I did some research and I was shocked to find that 77% of all women treating Bacterial Vaginosis with Pharmaceutical Antibiotics suffer from reoccurrence within months.
I found a site that taught me to treat my BV naturally without the medications that have nasty side effects. Since I have applied the methods taught there I have been BV free for 6 month now. I dont wanna be too confident but maybe I am cured!. Check the site out maybe it can help you too. 3 Days To Permanent Bacterial Vaginosis Relief |

I am a 45 year old Mom of 5. I am pre-menopausal. I had chronic bacterial vaginosis for what seemed like my whole adult life. I would try flagyl and it would work for a month or so then back would come the odour. When I was married it was worse after sex. I always felt unclean. I was desperate to try something so I just decided no more underwear! And ladies I have a whole new life without any odour and practically no discharge.
It is unbelievable the difference. I wish I had tried it years ago. I know, I know the idea sounds gross and it did take about 2 weeks to get used to but it was worth is for me. Before I took the no underwear plunge I did try no underwear at night (I was not taught this growing up) but it did not work for me. I have always worn cotton granner underwear, it didn't matter the odour kept returning. I am going on 3 months now and it is wonderful. It may not work for everyone but it may work for you! Let your vagina breathe! vb |

Hi
I never usually post anything on these sites but I felt I should share my experiences in the hopes of helping someone else who is suffering with chronic bv/yeast infections. It is a horrible condition which can rob you of your self esteem and confidence and I think I have finally found something that works, for me anyway. The reason I state it works for me is that we are all different and there is usually a root issue/problem causing the bv to reoccur. With me it was more to do with my body ph being out/ leading to hormone issues and bacterial overgrowth in my gut/small instestines for others it can be caused by semen in the vagina disrupting the viginal flora and in this instance a specific treatment like Balance Active or probiotics inserted viginally would probably be sufficient to get your vaginal flora back to were it should be. I have been suffering with alternating infections of bv/thrush, irregular bowel movements and severe bloating and weight gain for the past 8 months. I had had bv before, several years prior, and had two doses of antibiotics for this. This seemed to help at the time however about 8 months ago I very stressed and felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was eating badly, smoking and drinking more than I should and taking no exercise. I knew that I was neglecting my health and sure enough almost over night I looked 6 months pregnant as a result of bloating. I seemed to gain a stone in weight in months, which I now know was partly water retention and then the bv infections started. I was lucky if I had a week free of bv or thrush in 5-6 months. Anyway, I decided that I needed to get well and get my health back on track so I began to do alot of research and managed to get the bloating and other symptoms under control with natural supplements such as oil of oregano, olive extract, coconut oil (organic unrefined/unpressed only), a balanced healthy diet, quit smoking and took more exercise and did everything I could to manage my stress and axiety more effectively (stress releases an excess of hormone cortisol which lead to all kinds of problems), however up until 2 months ago I was still getting the bv and thrush. I was starting to think there was something seriously wrong with me but I didn't let the irrational thoughts take over and perseveredand carried on my research into treatments. It occurred to me that if my ph was to acidic overall this could be causing the reoccuring bv and the other symptoms I was having. If this was the case my immune function would be unable to fight off the infections and leave me vulnerable to a whole host of medical and health problems. Anyway this brings me to what I consider to be my miracle cure, Apple Cider Vinegar with 'mother'. I ordered the Apple Cider, must be organic (braggs is good and less than £4.00 a bottle) and with the 'mother' and within days I began to see a positive changes. Apple Cider Vinegar makes the body more alkaline, something to do with the way the body metabolises it. My bv and thrush had gone within a week, my skin had cleared (kept breaking out, this was obviously due to toxins in my body escaping through my skin, particularly around my chin) and a wonderful side effect which I was not expecting was that I began to perspire less and there was absolutely no odour. I could go without deodorant in the first time well since I can ever remember. This made me think that maybe my ph had always been a little out of whack and this had caused skin problems and body odour in the past, as I would often need to reapply deodorant throughout the day. It has been two months now and I am still bv free, my periods are less painful and heavy, my skin is glowing, my stomach is almost flat again and I generally feel better in body and mind.. I have also added a good multivitimen, fish oils and B12/folic acid as I was little low, which showed up on blood tests. However, it was the apple cider vinegar the helped in the first instance and then I added the other supplements later to top up on any vitamins/mineral deficiencies I may have suffered over the past 6-8 months due to my immune system taking working over time. I have to say I love this stuff and will drink it forever. I drink alot of water anyway and although it is an aquired taste I have grown to love it with a touch of organic unpasterised honey, particulalry as I know the good it is doing me. It has numerous other health benefits which I makes it even more worthwhile. As I said this is what worked for me. I would definately investigate whether you have a bacterial overgrowth of the intestinal area or imbalance of gut flora and maybe ask your GP to send you for blood tests to identify any problems/defiencies you may have as these can lead to a weakened immune system, leaving you vulenerable to reoccurring infections. I would advise try organic apple cider vinegar with the 'mother'. B12 and folic acid (should be taken together, something to do with the way they are metabolised) and if you think you may have bacterial overgrowth in the gut or small intestine SIBO a strong natural supplement like oil of oregano Oregano oil products have been used as an anti-viral, anti-fungal, (yeast and candida problems), anti-microbial, olive leaf extract, peppermint oil and coconut oil, however this must be unrefined and cold pressed. I get my mine from coconutty but there are many suppliers just make sure it a good one as refined and heat pressed will do you alot more harm then good. I really hope this information helps other on the forum suffering with this horrible infection. I am so relieved to be rid of it and feel free and healthy again. Best of luck to all battling BV. |
