I'm about to try the 3 day treatment that was suggested in the book I read (using Peroxide,Femina Flora and daily oral dosages of Folic Acid)...I really hope it works I ordered the Femina Flora online from Natural Express and it's finally here, i'm about to start it in about a few days just waiting for my period to over, but i'm really excited as I've tried almost everything else from visiting doctors hoping they would have an answer. I remember one time visiting a doctor she out right laughed at the idea of using peroxide she in turn says "I can imagine how in there looks, you shouldn't be using that" I was very much annoyed and told her "well it works better than any of the that you or any other doctor has ever suggested and that coming to you is a waste of my money only for you to hand me some anitibiotics and send me on my way" , that sure did shut her up.

I really hope this is an end to my problem, I know that at least when I was using the peroxide some time back that it would leaving me feeling clean only for a few days so I hope the Femina Flora and the oral vitamin B does it's part. Guys please wish me luck! And was anyone every successful using this method?

I suffered from constant BV from the time I was 17. It always happened after sex without a condom. Very frustrating and embarassing for me. I finally found the hydrogen peroxide and distilled water solution while browsing online and WOW. It actually works. I've only had to use it three times, and I haven't had BV in a year now!

hi all! i just signed up so i could lend a hand. i had an incident a couple years back when i had a chronic bv/yeast infection (i was diagnosed with both back and forth. it may have been both for a while!) i felt miserable! it's hard not to think about when you're afflicted with such an infection. i quit the b/c, but the infection persisted for nearly a year.
i thought i'd never be free of the torture! but finally i figured it out - i was cured!
during my research, i ran across this site and others of stories of women trapped in the horror of chronic infections lasting years, and women having to wear pads 24/7 and going great lengths to hide the very part that make them all women. it absolutely broke my heart. now that i'm cured, and have been for a about two years, i feel i must share my remedy.
i've seen a couple posts on
    PROBIOTICS!
and if you haven't tried them, you should. this ultimately cured me. your infections are basically caused by bad bacteria/yeast overcoming the good bacteria. wouldn't it make sense that after a while, there's just none, or at least very little, good bacteria left to fight? you need to replace the good bacteria to keep the balance, then those powerful prescriptions may work. pop two probiotics, one in the morning and one at night, for a day or two before treatment, then continue using for as long as you feel is needed during and after treatment.

also remember other important factors like diet (vegetarian/vegan or raw-food diets are best!!!) and stress (which really can kill you). also, don't use soap on your girly parts. your vagina is a self-cleaning organ and is one of the cleanest parts on your body. warm water is fine. she doesn't like chemicals, and she doesn't like rough anything, well....at least out of the bedroom ;D

it's probably a good idea to continue taking probiotics, infection or not, for always. the food/water we eat/drink gradually kills off your normal bacteria balance. honestly, i think the large percent of americans with irritable bowel syndome would be cured with good intestinal bacteria supplements. i personally take a one-a-day for women, all natural, whole-food mega vitamin from a brand called New Chapter. kinda pricey, but i swear by it. it helps with stress, immunity, hormones, and yes, it has
    PROBIOTICS!!!!

and that's what YOU need! <3

Hi ladies. I too experienced the misery of BV for a year. I tried the doctor's metronidazole which made me feel sick and, within 2 weeks, the BV was back. I tried vinegar douches, hydrogen peroxide douches, probiotics. I inserted natural yoghurt. I took vitamin C, multivitamins. They all worked great....for a day or two. I avoided close contact with people in case they could smell me. I was single mostly because sex with a new partner was completely out of the question. I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone about it. Finally I broke down in a health shop and poured out my sorry story and a lovely young asian girl told me the cure for me .... I had to stop eating sugar and take probiotics daily. I was so desperate that I tried it. It's hard not eating sugar because there is an unbelievable amount in our diets. All the things you would expect like chocolate and confectionary but also things you would not expect like honey, breakfast cereal, canned soup, so called "healthy" muesli bars. I became obsessive about reading ingredient labels on foods. But, within 4 days, the stink had gone. A couple of times since then I have had a "splurge" on sugar but, within 24 hours, the smelly discharge is back. I no longer have sugar and I take probiotics daily. An added bonus is that I have lost weight and my digestion is much better. I have been dating a new man for 4 months :-)
It's not an eaasy sacrifice to make but it's worked so well for me that I've posted my story in case it helps someone else. Best of luck ladies. There is hope for this miserable condition!

i terminated a pregnancy a year ago and ever since then i have been getting bv every month. the antibiotics work but i get the infection again a month later - usually right after my period. i hate that this is the most common infection for women and yet they know almost NOTHING about it!! go do some reasearch!!

i am currently undergoing intense acupuncture and chinese meds as an alternative but nothing has worked yet. my gyn prescribed boric acid but i never took it because i don't want anymore chemicals in there! i have swtiched to an alkaline diet to try and rid myself of acid - hasn't worked.

my sex life is in the gutter and it's taking a big toll on me and my husband. he's very supportive but this is AWFUL. plus we want to try and get pregnant soon and i'm terrified that i won't be able to or that i will miscarry because of this. why am i getting this every month?? i feel so unhealthy...i hate this. people dont realize how depressing this can be and the strain it takes on our mental health. my gyn sort of dismissed me when i spoke about it and my other doctor said shes never heard of women getting it chronically (and this was a woman's health centre!!!). what am i missing?

i don't think there is a cure or answers out there. i think some women recover and docs have no idea why. ugh...so brutal i really want to be hopeful but it gets so difficult when nothing works.

This isn't really an infection, it's just an imbalance in the bacteria in your vagina. A lot of doctors won't be able to help you, and will only give you antibiotics to get rid of the symptoms. It's going to eventually come back. It's every women's job is to educate herself and find out more about her body. The antibiotics will cure you temporarily but you need to figure out what's causing BV to come back, is it on a certain time of the month? is it cause by a certain type of food you eat? what about sexual partners?

Try to stop douching, taking bubble baths or getting any soup in your vagina, don't use those vagina cleaners/wipes. After you had taken a antibiotics, try to keep a log book of what you've been eating and keep yourself hydrated. Sometimes a yoga session can also help, because stress can be a major cause.

    Hi guys,
I came across something called "cytolytic vaginosis" that requires a treatement quite different from the "bacterial vaginosis", so instead of trying to get lower the vaginal ph you need to try to make it more alkaline. It is worth giving a shot, it involves just washing with sodium bicarbonate, which seemed to worked for me straight away (plus a gave up getting the probiotics for a while as they might also trigger the cytolytic vaginosis...) Hope this helps anybody put there...

Hi, I think Im having recurrent BV. Im only prescribed oral metronidazole and once vaginal metronidazole. I was Never told about probiotics or lactobacillus tablets or gel by doctors, and I've been to many. But it is all over the internet as I search for answers. I really want to use those in attempt to prevent recurrence. My questions are: Do I find the acidic gels or lactobacillus gels or supplements on the counter of any pharmacy? If so, what are they called exactly? Or shall I get a prescription from my doctor?
I also read online in different sites and medical articles that recurrent BV is associated with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and pregnancy complications such as miscarriages, premature labor and low birth weight. Im very disturbed by these facts and Im just wondering if they are just research theories or are they oftenly experienced by women who suffered those complications due to recurrent BV?

Sorry about the long writing. Thanx for reading.

Ok ladies I am not a doctor, but I do have 27 years of working with my wife to try and sort BV , I am a man of 52 , my wife is 46. Stunning and most men would love to sleep with her, but sadly she and I have lived with this issue for years and spent £10000 plus to cure it.......firstly you can't !!!! But there is a way to reduce the symptoms as follows:- this is what we have done over the years.

    A) get the right consultant on your side, often men are better in understanding the issue as they are often the first to know the smell and the concerns it causes a relationship.
    B) dont use baths, soap, or wash the area other than with a clean towel damp, clean showers are ok.
    C) be careful about your mans hygiene as well
    D) make sure you wee before and after sex....straight away, this has been seen to flush bacteria away as urine is sterile.
    E) my wife found about 25 years after seeing a lovely Arab doctor who was then little understood but he knew about this issue back in the 80's that a heavy does of METRINIDOZOLE for 3-6 months every day did stop the symptoms , caused thrush, but it did help and then a once week dose every few days or once a week.
    F) my wife also takes an alternative antibiotic (can't remember the name sort) less strong when she gets thrush too severe.
    G) sadly you men will have to realise that you can have too regular sex, on a good week twice, on a bad none and only every two weeks, sex stirs up the hormones and BV levels.
    H) HRT and taking the mini pill has also helped getting the balances correct.
    J) men no oral sex on the lady sorry but your bacteria can set it off.
    K) sadly but last men you must wear a condom for ever, no more sperm in the Virginia , it can and does trigger it off, also men its important that you keep clean as it has been know to give non speicific problems to men, so also take a wee after sex.

We still have good sex, watch porn movies together, wank together , she gives me a great BJ and some anus play, we have fantastic sex when we can, I miss it , of course I do, but the wife does help me get over my sex drive, sometimes she feels so smelly (even if I say she is not) that it puts here off sex, so I have to go and watch some web stuff or see web cam not as good but takes the tension put. I have had to learn to allow her to give the hint.

Men, it's no joke, it make me angry at times, but when I come off my high male horse I have to just understand. If you saw how pretty my wife is and how sexy she can be and look, and that she can't back that look up, it must be very sad, sometimes I wish I had no sex drive but that don't last for long LOL. Learn to help your lady, get the best doctor, interrogate them, do they understand the issues, if any of them say they can cure it , tell them to get lost, no known cure.

I do hope this helps some of you, it can be managed to some degree, but girls you need to cate a group and publish the problem big time, only then will the medical world get off thier backside and realise the issue needs some money and will make many couples very happy if it can be controlled.
PM me if I can give more info

    Martin
Bottom line sorry ladys nothing works full stop, ie: nothing will end it forever. But what I have stated above is what we have learnt
