Unhappy Yeast infection, or something else?

I just moved to university, so I can't go to my regular doctor to ask this. I was thinking of maybe going to an urgent care clinic?
    I'm a 21 yr old female.

About a month and a half ago, I started getting some cheesy discharge, and really bad burning/itching. I tried to ignore it, started my period and it went away, a week after, it came back. I'd never had a yeast infection before, and I don't have any older women in my life to ask this question. So it was left untreated for some time.
I used a 3 day monistast thing, and it was all cleared up.

Its been about 2-3 weeks, and a few days ago I noticed some discharge similar to the kind before. Again, I tired to ignore it. I have alot more wetness, but the cheese and burning isnt there.
Today, I was taking a shower, and was cleaning "down there". My fingers were full of thick almost yolk-y discharge. It wasn't as bright yellow, but had a tinge. I was grossed out. When I put my finger inside, there was a lot of it. Alot. I tried to clear it out. It doesn't have an odor, just very thick and yellow tinged.

So I was wondering if this could be another yeast infection or what?
I know there's a test at the store, but as a broke college kid, I really don't want to pay $15 for the test, and then $15 for the medicine.

I had sex once when I was 15, and we were both virgins.
I have a girlfriend I've been seeing for three years. We've never cheated, and we had no stds coming in. We haven't been sexually active lately for this exact reason.
I'm a clean person, I take a shower everyday. always change my clothes.

I just don't understand if this is a yeast infection, why it would a) ome back and b) so thick and nasty. :P

I'm kind of a shy person, so this is hard, but I'm really scared it could be something other than a yeast infection.

    Thanks so much ladies..

I don't know... Tough call, our discharge does change throughout our cycles depending on ovulation. Which at peak ovulation is generally an eggy type of consistency.

No odor, not a whole lot of color, no itchy or burning feelings? If it was me... I'd sit tight for a week or so, wear cotton panties and stay as dry and clean as possible down there.

If you still have it in a week, maybe then try getting into a Dr.

Does your college have a free clinic on campus? Student Health?
Go there if they do. Swallow your fear - they've seen it all! Maybe more than "it all" considering it's a college campus and young adults are a little crazy.

In the meantime, wear loose-fitting clothing. Free pass to wear sweatpants to class As Lana said, cotton panties and stay clean and dry.
