    Hello Everyone,

I have been having some dry skin this last week. Its right between my small and big labia. It's sort of red, not very itchy, only slightly stings during sex, and nothing is swollen.

I usually have "vulva issues" if I have been having a lot of sex after a period of no sex. I hadn't seen my boyfriend in over a month, and then we get back at it, and I have this strange dry skin. We've been dating for 1.5 years.

A year ago I was diagnosed from one doctor with genital warts on inner thighs near anus from HPV, and they went away extremely fast and never had a break out since. Also, another doctor wasn't quite convinced I even had warts- just easily irritated skin around thighs from jeans, etc.

I also noticed that my roomate bought discount toilet paper, and it is very rough and leaves pieces behind.

I use dove unscented soap and use a washcloth.

Any ideas what this could be?

Doctors don't diagnose warts willy-nilly, if you have HPV then a break-out of warts would make sense, and there's a big difference between irritation and warts - the dryness you're experiencing MAY be related, not a wart break-out as such but the virus re-surfacing and causing irritation to the mucosa.

If you use soap on your vulva this is another possible cause - you should only use water to wash with, soap can interfere with pH so in turn effect flora, the mucosa is delicate so easily dried-out or irritated by soap, plus as mucosa doesn't have the top protective layer it more easily absorbs toxins from cleaning products into the body.

Anything chemical - soaps, washes, wipes, toilet paper, washing powder, etc. could have caused this irritation - right now I'd say irritation is more likely than any sort of infection. If unsure though, see a doctor to be on the safe side.
