    Unhappy Akward Question. . .

Hi. . .I've been trying to find a site were I can ask this question & know it won't freak anyone out. So, hopefully, this is the site This was the only thread one I could find that had anything to do w/ my particular situation. Im a sexually active 20 year old women. I recently got this medium sized lump on the upper part of my vagina. Pus came out, like a ingrown hair, then, nothing. Just blood & clear liquid are coming out. Im just curious as to if anyone has a basic IDEA what it could be? It hurts to touch it & its rather swollen. I've pinned that to me squeezing the living heck out of it to no avail. My BF doesn't have any STDS. And it's right the top were I shave. Any help would be greatly appriciated ~I do plan on going to the ER some point today, but if its nothing to be concerned about, id rather just duke it out you know?~

Yeah, I actually had something like that between my anus and vagina (weird spot huh?) Anyway, at first it was itchy but then it started to get irritated, so when I got out of the shower one day I took a mirror to look at it...and sure enough it was a red bump with a white head on it... it wasn't like a normal "zit" because it had A LOT of pus and it smelled. It was most likely an ingrown hair and I hadn't had one since. Sometimes ingrown hairs can form for a couple months and it gets really infected most likely like yours and mine. I wouldn;t stress it too much. Just make sure you wash the area with water and mild soap. I find I get ingrown hairs a lot when I shave...

It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~

Its a sebaceous cyst(boil). Its a skin condition similar to acne. I get them sometimes. Unfortunately dont think you can do much to prevent them. Maybe stop shaving would help. But you have to drain all the pus out completely or it won't go away. They are contagious, try not to get pus in other areas or you can get more.

it might be a cyst. i get them, but not in my vagina. its normally caused when a gland is clogged and fluid and other nasty stuff builds up; it wont go away if you popped it. if it is, i wouldn't squeeze it, cause it doesn't help. i suggest you go to a gynecologist. and like the last answer, it IS contagious.

I agree that it could possibly be a cyst or a boil, it seems to meet the guidelines for both.
