Do I have chronic BV?
I came across this board looking for information on BV. Since the beginning of 2007, I have been having a brown discharge (sometimes thick, sometimes thin and watery), vaginal irritation and itching, and pain during sex. It all started when I switched my brand of pill, but I have since gone back to my old brand, and have had no improvement. My gynecologist told me I had BV about 2 months ago and prescribed Clindesse. It cleared up my symptoms for a few days, but they were back as soon as my husband and I had sex. Like a lot of women on this board, the symptoms seem to start up a week after my period and improve a few days before my period, but the second and third weeks of my cycle are the worst, especially after sex. I?m not sure what I should try next, or what questions I should be asking my doctor. It is really starting to wreak havoc on my sex life, and reading how many of you have been suffering with this for years is too depressing for words. Interestingly, I don?t have as much of a problem with odor as some others do. I really only have a slight fishy odor the day after sex. It?s still unpleasant, obv. More of concern to me is the pain and the effects on my sex life. I?m 27, married 3 years, monogamous, and otherwise fairly healthy. PLEASE HELP!!
