Okay so first of all... I'm googling a bit as I type this and I can't find any relevant information. And I'm embarrassed to admit this but I don't even know what the part I'm going to be talking about is referred to. :/ I know, I oughta know better. I'm sure it's not abnormal but it's just not on any diagrams I can find as a reference. It's the smaller flap of skin between my labia majora and right below the clitoris, about the size of the tip of my pinky, and it usually hangs down just a bit. (Does it even have a name?? Please tell me someone knows what I'm talking about haha)

Anyway, I woke up this morning because it was itching like mad. I wasn't really sure what to do because it looked completely normal at the time, so I rinsed myself off, changed my undies, and went on with my day. About an hour or two later I went to take a shower, checked again, and it had swollen to about the size of the top of my thumb.

...what. even.

It's pretty red. However, the itching has pretty much stopped (or is just inconsistent enough to make me think it has). It doesn't hurt. There's no discharge, no bleeding, no bubbles/pustules, no discoloration other than being a little more red than usual. It's just huge and puffy. I can't see any scratches although I'm thinking I could have accidentally scratched myself a day or so ago (my nails are kind of long right now). I haven't had sex for more than a month, and the weirdest thing I did down there recently was shave yesterday kind of in that general area, but I mean, not THAT close.

I would really love to go to Planned Parenthood and ask them (I don't have insurance right now so I can't go to a dr.) but in this po-dunk little town they are only open 2 days a week and today is not one of them. :/

With the lack of discharge/other symptoms I really don't think it's an infection, it's just inflamed. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is there anything I can do to try and prevent it from getting worse until I can get into PP? Or is there some kind of treatment safe for my lady-bits that will maybe relieve the inflammation a bit and buy me some time to look into this more?

Thanks in advance for reading this!
