So about 10 days ago, I noticed my toilet paper turned a bit brown when wiping. I figured it was the start of my period, but the period still hasn't come--and the toilet paper is still turning up brown. The urine looks normal; it's just the toilet paper that has the brown part. I'm definitely not pregnant (virgin!) and my period is usually very normal. Any ideas?
As a side, possibly unrelated note: About three weeks ago I went to the ER with chest pains. EKG was normal, blood test was normal. My doc thinks it might be irritation in my esophagus from prolonged use of ibuprofen (I get migraines). I can't imagine how this is related, but thought I'd mention it because it has been bringing a lot of stress into my life--maybe messing with my hormones?
Anyway, has anyone experienced something similar?
It is old blood. Nothing to worry about, not all blood from a period is pushed out during a cycle and you can have some leftover on later days. It can also be brown indicating the start of a period because the uterine lining can shed a bit but have no blood, in that case it will still be brown.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
