Default Question about irregular blood clots. Should I see a doctor?

First let me begin by saying that I've been on the pill (Ortho-trycyclin) since January. I haven't had any serious problems with it to date. That said, ever since my last period I've been having not so regular blood clots. It's been weeks since my period ended, yet I still will sometimes get blood clots. I've checked myself a couple times, and each time revealed that my vagina had clotted blood inside. It's exactly like the clots you get when you're on your period, but my period ended weeks ago, and my next one is not due for another couple more weeks.

I'm wondering if it's possible that something has gone wrong, maybe with the pill, so that the blood isn't sticking to the uterine walls like it should. I mean, my body should have gotten rid of everything since my last period, right? So why am I getting blood clots? There's no blood that I can see...just clots.

What I'd like to know is, has anyone ever had this problem, and if so, could it be related to my birth control? This is the first time it's ever happened, so I'm not sure. Should I see a doctor about this, or is this something that happens occasionally.

    Exclamation Check with your doctor.

    Hi Silo.

If anything changes or doesn't feel right with your body, you should go to a doctor and have it checked. We are all different, and things that could be normal for one person may be abnormal in someone else. Blood clots between periods would be something that I would be concerned about. I was on the pill for a few years and never had that experience. It may be nothing to worry about, but you will never know for sure unless you see a gyn.
