    Angry pelvic ultrasound

So, last week i went for a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound cause i'm having pain. the good news is that everything is fine. but, i'm still having the pain. its like someone is twisting and turning my muscle or something. the doc says its probably gas. well, excuse me but i know what having gas feels like and it doesn't feel like this. i'm so frustrated. at least i have pain meds. hubby thinks its all in my head. i wish there was some kind of answer just so he wouldn't be right.

anyone else know what i'm talking about?

    Default Raven...

How did they know that you had that? What kind of tests did they do? If the ultrasound didn't show anything, what am i supposed to do, ya know? I am worried, but also relieved. trying to figure this out is a pain! everyone thinks i'm a hypochondriac anyway, so what's the point?

Endometriosis is usually diagnosed by having a laparoscopy. I have had 5. It can be very painfull. Some doctors try using hormone therapy before alternating to surgery. There are a few questions I have that may narrow down your symptoms if you don't mind if I ask. Are you on the pill? Do you still have your ovaries and uterus? Do you get your period? Do you have cramping in between cycles? What doctors tend to do is put you on depoprovera or a birthcontrol pill that stops you from having your period. They believe that menstral fluid refluxes and causes the endometrial walls to grow elsewhere causing lesions which can be very painful. Sometimes just discontinuing your period can help a lot. I will leave you with this but can help you a lot more if you want to chat. Good luck hon!

Yes, i have all my parts in tact. i use NuvaRing b/c i can't remember to take a pill. the depo made me so sick, and so this is the best thing for me right now. i choose to have my period once every two months, as i am able to do that with this birth control..

i guess i do have cramping real bad, and in between i notice it, but i just figured that was normal.

I don't think the doc would do the laproscopy since she thinks i just "have gas" i guess it is something to keep an eye on for now.

i just had my annual last month and everything went ok there, so i don't know.

It's up to you. I have had 5 surgeries and am going in for my 6th in December. Even surgery isn't a cure all but sometimes a laparoscopy is a good thing because it gives the doctors a chance to go for a better view. The research I have done on endo says that 30-40% of women with endometriosis are infertile as it is one of the symptoms of the disease. Some women will have a laparoscopy and never have pain again. Others will. I personally feel that you should perhaps get a second opinion. I lived with the disease for 5 years until being properly diagnosed. My doctor said that it was all in my head and women are supposed to have painful periods. As you can imagine he is no longer my doctor. I am not trying to scare you hon, just want you to know what's out there!

    Default Similar Situation

I am also going through this sort of situation right now. I have had pain in my stomach for the past 7 months and now I have been bloating and had other weird symptoms for the past 3 months.

I have been to 3 doctors (2 being specialists) and the 2 specialists have really let me down... one sent me to the other and then that one told me to come back in 3 months if the pain doesnt go away by then!!!! WHAT!?!

Well I went back to my family doctor and yet again she is sending me to another specialist. She said I have a bacterial infection in my stomach and put me on pain meds and other medication. When I go to the pharmacy to pick them up, they told me this is medicene they put you on for endometriosis. Could I have that?

My periods are irregular after coming off birthcontrol 3 months ago. They come every 2 weeks....and were light flow... but now they have changed recently... my last 2 only lasted 2 days and there was hardly anything there at all! What is going on?

I dont go to the new doc until Dec 7th.... I am worried. My doc told me to ask him about my fertility because whatever I have will effect me. Could I get any worse news?

I am now suffering from the pain in my stomach, spotting every two weeks, bloating that makes me look 6 months pregnant at times, and to top it off.... the meds they put me on make me horribly sick! I just dont know what to do....

What if this doc lets me down too? I dont know what to ask him or even what to expect him to say to me.... help!!

Have you had any MRIs, CT Scans or ultrasounds. I am not a doctor but have been dealing with this for 10 years. You sound like you may have a cyst on your ovary. There is also something called pelvic inflamitory disease. I am not to educated on PID but have had several cysts. I also know people who have tried to lose weight and couldn't. It turned out they were experiencing large ovarian cysts. Don't give up. Often doctors don't know answers and make stuff up. The best thing I can recommend to you is to educate yourself. Look up your symptoms, find doctors that specialize in your symptoms and keep going on this website. It has done wonders for me. Its nice to know we aren't all alone! Love and Peace! Happy thanksgiving!

Thanks soo much for your advice! I have had ct's and 3 ultrasounds in the past 8 months! Nothing.... My stomach gets sooo big and bloated after I eat, everyone thinks I am pregnant! It even gets real hard! Now, you tell me there is nothing wrong.. They get paid sooo much money and dont take patients seriously! I have found yet another doc that has a pretty good rep for taking things seriously. Hopefully this helps!

Thanks for replying to me... you give me motivation to find out what this is! Merry Christmas to all!!!!
