I think I have a yeast infection, I got a cold a the dr put me on REALLLY strong antibiotics for 10 flipping days, well day before yesterday my bladder hurt when I peed.. not like it burns when I pee like my bladder was the only thing that hurt so i told my mom and she said maybe i need to drink more water, i did and that stopped well today Im kinda itchy and I have really thick sticky discharge that doesnt stink but does not smell like I normally smell. What do you think? Any home remedies for a yeast infection?

If it's not too bad, use baking soda in the bathtub. Put it in the water, and make a little paste out of it.
I get really minor yeast infections all the time, (mostly from that dumb underwear that I'm throwing away now!!) and thats what I do. It burns, but that's just the pH changing in your vulva. Don't put it into your vagina, though.
And don't overdo it, either ... or else you can get into a ping-pong game with UTI's and yeast infections, back and forth >.< It stinks; it only happened to me while on birth control pills, but it was an experience not worth repeating.

well as you have found out that while taking antibiotics can cause you to get a yeast infection. while the antibiotics kill the bad bacteria it also can kill some of the good too. it isn't uncommon for women to come down with a yeast infection after taking a course of antibiotics. what i have found that works well for me and it isn't messy is an over the counter pill called azo yeast it is a homeopathic treatment and it really does work. no messy creams to deal with. give it a try. you can get it at most drug stores or walmart.....

Yogurt with L. acidophilius or acidophilius pills also help. Warning: they may make you, um, gassy. But that helps balance the pH in your vag. Or your doctor can just call in a Diflucan pill, two pills, actually. You take one on day one and the other one on day four.

I am PLAGUED by yeast infectins exactly eight days before my period for at least six or seven months out of the last year. Its making me nuts.

But my regular doc always gives me a Diflucan script if she's giving me antibiotics because she said it happens to most women.

That's funny Little mentioned the baking soda thing; my best friend says she makes the paste in the bath whenever she has a little itch and she has only had one yeast infection in her whole life.

Oh wow 6-7 months thats crazy!
Well what I did was use vinegar and water as a douche which is what my good friend does and that was absolutley INSTANT relief! AHHH so all better now. Thank yall so much for the advise and I say keep it coming in case I need it later (or maybe someone else?)Im onthese suckers for 10 days and I dont seem to be getting all the way better
Metal- Thanks for that recommendation, I think I may just go look into that for a plan in the future.

    Default yeast or gardnerella

I was plagued with what I thought was yeast infections for a year. It was a cycle of mensturating/yeast. I did all the homeopathic stuff...yogourt inserted (ahhh, the relief!), but it always came back. It wasn't itchy, and I didn't even have the classic coloured discharge. But my undies were always "wet." Clear discharge all the time.
I saw several docs who assured me they could "see" the yeast and always prescribed the same stuff. Finally, one doc said he'd check for gardnerella (bacteria) as it sometimes mimics yeast. Sure enough. Went on a cycle of antibiotics and didn't have a problem for another 20 years.
Good luck. What looks and acts like yeast isn't always. MAKE your doctors check for bacterial too!
